20 inch combat rim "o" rings

Has anyone ever tried the "X" style O-ring for the combat rims? This one is a 1/4" style. I am not sure if I need the 1/4" or 3/8" but they do not have any 3/8" in this style. This is from McMaster. 466 18 1/2 19 18.455" 19.005" 1 90025K643 13.25

    Trailer for 5ton

That 1061 looks perfect for what I was wanting to use it for. Thanks!

    Trailer for 5ton

What would be a good trailer for towing behind my M934? Like ATVs, maybe even a car. In other words heavy duty but pintlehook style. I already have a standard dual axle tow behind. I was thinking M110 but longer. What have you used, what do you suggest?

    Rebuild Date?

Thanks, that helps fill in some informational gaps in the rebuild question area.

    Rebuild Date?

How do know if one of these trucks has been rebuilt? Is that where the A1/A2 designations come from? Then, how do you find out when it was done? I keep seeing private sellers saying a truck was 100% rebuilt by the military on such and such date? That is why I am asking.

Well, I won the M934A2 I was bidding on!!

It was a growing experience. LOL. That's the positive part of me. The negative part of me says, it sucked balls and I will never do it again. I'm a glutton for punishment though so, yes, I will probably do the auction thing again. However, I will be much better prepared...or I will have it...

Well, I won the M934A2 I was bidding on!!

Sleeping in the cab wasn't to bad actually. I had a sleeping bag but no mat for the back. I just used my sleeping bag as a pillow and put my coat over me. I slept with my head on the passenger side and feet at the drivers side. It wasn't great but it beat the metal floor in back. My bones...

Well, I won the M934A2 I was bidding on!!

Yep 98G, that is what I was thinking. The 395s being in better shape, for the most part, and more easily available. Both tires can be found brand new but older production tires, even new, won't stand up as long to equal amounts of use/abuse. Right now the truck goes 50-55mph without much...

Well, I won the M934A2 I was bidding on!!

I forgot to add, I am changing tire size from the 1400s to 395/85r20s. They are a tad smaller but they run better on the road at highway speeds. I'll do the small tweaks to the fuel pump and governor that I read about on this site so I can drive at 60mph comfortably. I think the A2 brake...

Well, I won the M934A2 I was bidding on!!

The reason I bought the truck is to turn it into a camper and tow rig. I have a '89 K5 Blazer I turned into a rock crawler. I pull it behind my truck when I go to long distance events and that prevents me from pulling a camper. I don't want a truck bed camper either. This truck is an...

Well, I won the M934A2 I was bidding on!!

Yep, the trip was not easy but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. No mechanical failures. I am really happy with the truck. Driving it was excellent. This truck drove better than any truck I had driven while active. I drove everything up to 15 ton tractors. Hauling large loads in a...

Well, I won the M934A2 I was bidding on!!

More Pics of the Journey Two of the pictures show the first tire I found to be bad and the checks after they had gotten bigger from when I had first departed the holding yard. The centrifugal forces of the tire tread pulling outward while going at highway speeds put enough tension on the...

Well, I won the M934A2 I was bidding on!!

Pics of the Recovery Journey The next few post with pictures are kind of in order from when I picked up the truck to when I got home. This is the first stop I remembered to take pictures.

Well, I won the M934A2 I was bidding on!!

This is long, but I think it is worth reading if you are going to pick up a vehicle and drive it home over any long distance. Maybe even short ones if you have to do it on the freeway. Weeeeell, I am home with my newly purchased M934A2 Expansible Van, 6x6, 5-ton truck. I got home 7 days after...

Was Stuck, for the night, in Bismarck, ND. r

The 395s didn't pan out. The closest shipping time to get anything to me was (the shortest) 6 days. I got a call Monday morning from Greg And he was able to get me a trailer pickup in two hours if I still needed it. I said, "Yes and who do I pay?". I am home now. Thanks to everyone...

Nope, I will just take tires with me. I enjoy the ride. Not the problems but I will try to mitigate better next time.

Thanks eddy, I will keep those in mind.

I was just going to ask about the 395s. I may have found four 395, 85, 20 tires. Are those a good alt to the 1400r20?
