I am going to ask something and i hope it wont cheez anybody off.
I am in the middle of redoing my M-37b1 and well the whole brake system needs to be replaced, solid and flex lines and all.
well i was wondering if there were any civilian equivalent for the master cylinder and wheel cylinders...
hey all, i was wondering about the right paint for the m-37, I know at the time the army was doing the semi gloss thing, my resto is to be Viet-nam in country look and i would think semi gloss would not be kept on. I guess the rattle can flat would be good but like i said i am trying to set it...
Hey that is a pretty cool set up, after active duty i spent a couple years in a signal outfit, that M-37 with the commo box doesn't look all that different than the stuff when i was in. As far as making my truck to sig specs, well i think it will take me long enough to get her restored to basic...
very cool, my mv has only single pulleys on the motor, and the 60amp gen is wired to the regulater on the fire wall, but there is a cut out on the front driver side pillar next to the radiater which i imagine is where the cables ran through to the gen.
so my guess is unless i am doing something...
well i have to be honest, i was a little kid playing army in the back yard in the 60s, and i loved the partades in town for memorial day 4th of july and veterans day. seeing all the old GIs marching down the avenue, and seeing some old militarty stuff go by. visiting my older brother at the army...
hey i know it will be a bit till i get down to doing wireing on my M-37 but i keep looking at this thing . I know its a rectifier and it came with the truck, I have found it mounted between the grille and the radiater in some pictures i have seen. I even found it mentioned in a TM sometjhing...
well got the bed off, still working out motor issues and debating about what to do about repair/replace wireing in the front
now all the body parts are stored in the bed but now out of the way
on a trailer tarped out back.
Way to go, I dont know if it is just the exitement of getting a vehicle again or if i really do like these trucks. I have a way to go to get mine on the road but these trucks are like pick-ups on steroids and i think youre gonna love to get out on the road with her

at the moment i am not remembering a navy blue M38a1, I used to have a army green one with a 416 trailer, and there is a fella with a M-38 restored to look WWll, the only one i can think of in blue is an old cj painted in a rusty blue and in rough shape but i am sure that aint the one youre...
installed new starter and ground wires and got her cranking, but now i need a ign coil, wires seem fine will probably get new points and condenser. the dash wires seem in pretty good condition but the front end wires are pretty beat up. here are a few more pics :)

After going belly up and selling my M-38a1 and most of my WWII gear some years ago, I was finally able to by another vehicle a M-37b1.
bought it mid restoration from a old retired Airborn fella.
here are some pics on the day me and my sone got her home.
already have motor cranking now have to...
Evening my fellow MVers, I have a request of any of you folks with Viet Nam era vehicles. Here in Kent county Delaware the Viet Nam Veterans are getting a memorial park done in Dover. I am looking for a couple of vehicles done to Viet Nam specs to come to 1 the ground breaking ceremony which...
ok, we see alot of stuff to help out the diesels but what about us gasers, is the best we can do is add white lightening or is there some other thoughts that are cost effective.
