That's what I thought mike that that 12 volt side wouldn't be enough that would be just for lights and radios I guess that don't consume so much power. So gimpy Robb u were saying just hook up the winch to the first battery so it will be 24 volts.

I forgot to add I have a 200 amp alternator would hooking up to one battery would the generator have enough power to run the winch on the 12 volt side

Looking for some info I have a friend that gave me a warn winch in great working order the only problem it's a 12volt Winch how hard or easy would it be to hook up to the hmmvw. Or is that something that just shouldn't be done. Any ideas or suggestions thanks guys.

I have a 94 998 a1 with the 6.5 I have a 200 amp generator and on my volt gauge it's not on the white line. It's right before it it stays in the green but not on the white line like it should any help would be great

Got the steering box from a guy down here that has some hmmvw surplus parts put it in and works great not bad im back in action.

Well i found a guy that has nos steering gear for 150.00 he doesnt know if they were rebuilt or new they have a tag on them. So i think im gonna go that route. Also i found a guy in alabama called sax express that rebuilds them for 295.00 complete overhaul
