What have you done to your JEEP today

Just read somewhere (not 3-4 days back) that NO G.I.'s ever sat in the back seat of Jeeps. And that when Piper was pulling off his surprise Battle of the Bulge offensive (with captured U.S. uniforms and vehicles), that THAT was the giveaway to U.S. troops of the infiltrators: - So...

Being a soldier of any army, anytime, it's a raw deal. But it makes us boys feel useful, so that's what we do. Maybe. Maybe not.

I recently ran across the obituary of the guy who warned Montgomery and his staff that Market Garden was a disaster waiting to happen. Apparently the man had the hard intelligence. But Montgomery and staff ignored it. Seems like that should a war crime of sorts. Those soldiers did not have to...

If I remember, it was a also a way to slow your airspeed in a pinch (no luxury of a throttle in the gliders). Does that seem right?

Nice shot of the pilot "skidding" over the runway in the crosswind! I forget what the term is for that: - Got halfway to a glider-pilot license myself years ago, but had to bail on it, ran out of the time and money Pretty sure there's an avaition term for it though (and it is NOT "skidding").
