My pleasure to post those taking out pics!
Here they are! Also went to another town to get a Scania transmission due to the fact that the Kraz tranny uses a smaller bellhousing and pilot shaft, not being compatible with the bigger Scania powertrain. On the pics you can see it (Kraz tranny is...
As I said, more work done. The Scania engine went in today, for fitment checks. It's a tight fit, but doable. Some fabrication required, engine mounts and other stuff.
Today more work done:
got all the stuff that is not to be used and was on the firewall (some reservoirs, brackets, electrical cables and connections);
removed the old exaust system (will make it new anyway);
removed the steering box (it is in the way of the Scania starter, must use other...
Started swapping the Scania engine! The Yaz205 went out, made de Scania run on the groung in order to check for problems, it run great!
I hope you enjoy the pics.
Yes, you are right about that. I took the truck to the shop cause my hydraulic picker is too small to deal with that Scania engine. I will get a bigger picker as soon as possible. Money is always the "solution" :-)
Well, back to the track...
The truck is at the shop for the engine swap, brake rebuilding,all fluids change and all wheel bearings inspection.
Here are some pics:
As far as I know, the truck came from Germany (DDR time) to Brazil as some kind of deal and then spent most of its time in Rio until I got it and saved it.
Now I need to make my homework and research for more data and history.
Some more pics of the find...
I've sent an e-mail to Mortar and some others to see if they can come with some parts...let's see what will happen.
Thanks a lot to all who is trying to help me out.
Thanks man!
I hope someone comes here to say something to...its a very weird and rare truck indeed....255 and 255b are a lot more common to find around.
Hi all
I'm about to get a KraZ 214b back home and its has some broken front axle shafts (they are about 2-3/8" in diameter).
Can anyone lend some help on those, where to locate them and so on?
Thanks a lot in advance.
