Still here. Haven't left. Just shifted my plans over since acquiring this unicorn. Feeling beyond blessed to be entrusted to take care of her. She will be greatly appreciated and shared with those who love these machines. As a big supporter of our vets, I'm looking forward to preserving this...
@Gunny 0369 Loved your setup enough to go and get my own M1082 Trailer and a Diesel Jeep Wrangler. Going to try and make the ramps long and then capable of sliding inward and up between the tires for storage.
Beautiful build. I've seen several go with these mirrors and stiffen the doors. I'm a new owner and learning MIG welding. I suspect TIG may come in handy as well. Are these doors Steel or Aluminum?
Just thought of this as a project I'm working on. I'm currently working on a Go Bag of tools and parts to make sure is loaded onboard with every trip. I'll try to comprise a list of all tool types and sizes most likely needed away from home and some of the more common likely to fail parts. And...
Not sure if I'm ever going to go high speed in this but almost want to just to meet this Bryce everyone is talking about. Nice to hear he offers to come to us. Might have to jump on it before he changes his mind. There are soo many great Youtubers out there providing insight. Hope to meet them...

They have been and are continuing to be so. I'm not placing the blame on anyone. I'm not entirely sure how they would have known this component would fail either. I'd prefer at this time to leave it there as they are continuing to further help me out.
Great advice on lubricants. Nuff said on that I guess.
Learning curve was steep today with much metal shavings found in the front axle. At a minimum it looks like a Bearing and Seal replacement. I've received tremendous assistance from the guys at MME on this.
Speaking of guys. I hesitated...
@Third From Texas
Thank you so much for the tremendous info in your post. Sir, please accept 1000 friendship credits!
The previous intel @Mullaney provided on which TM to download was invaluable and one of the best welcome gifts. I downloaded them all last night and will spend countless hours...
Being so new to this, I've got a lot more questions than answers. I'm sure some responses will be more of an opinion, but I value those too and welcome any comments you care to share.
Soooo, what do you guys think about lubricants?
- I'm of the understanding that the C7 Caterpillar Engine...
