Will bad injectors make the 6.2 sound like its idling to low? It feels like its idling to low and actually makes the truck shake a little. Ive turned the screw up a little to make it idle smoother and after a few months it seems to idle the same. I am not sure if I have some bad injectors or...
Yes I removed the clips from the back of the fuel gauge and sanded everything to bare metal and the post on the back of the fuel gauge. Then I removed the ground from the frame and sanded it all down to shinny bare metal. It appears to be working now, just need to add some gas to see for sure.
So here is what they did to the wiring. The red wire that was cut was wrapped around the orange wire in the right corner that is partially stripped. It looks like the red wire where it was originally located the other half is bridged to the solid orange above it. What is the best way to...
Well Ive found more out. I removed dash and cleaned every terminal and bulb and bent pins out, I had to solder one of the copper connections for GEN2 light. A little continuity testing helped me find the break. Looks like gen lights are fine now. The left blinker light still comes on when I turn...
I have cleaned all the grounds by the radiator, the grounds on the frame by the radiator, the grounds from the engine to the bus bars, all the connections on the bus bars as well. I have not looked into the ground for the sending unit Ill check that out. I am just unsure what wires to follow for...
I always remove that cover plate and buy the seal that goes with it. Then I remove rod and make sure I mark the end that rides on the cam. Clean off the old gasket and install new gasket and mounting plate, Then I put grease on the rod not a ton but enough to hold it up in the engine while I...
Ive finally gotten my sons CUCV buttoned up pretty good and its time to start on mine during this down time. A few issues with wiring have been found.
1. You can turn on the headlights anytime. The switch for the lights next to the blackout lights does nothing to the lights.
2. The fuse for the...
Thanks Cucvmule thats good information. I am actually looking at going to a car show local in the next couple of weeks. I will ask around there. I found that most local body shops do not do this type of work anymore and stick to only new cars under insurance. That shocked me. I was thinking that...
NO its just the top part. We had it fiber glassed on the entire top, but it didnt seal it enough. so now the inside roof near the windshield is rotting through. But the post are fine and even the back part where it bolts the top on is fine. Its mainly from the windshield back like ten inches...
My kids 1009 has the roof rusted through. Anyone in the Houston Texas area that knows of a good shop that has cut the roof off and replaced it with a good one? I am looking for a skilled body shop that knows how to do this with experience.
I had a similar problem. I find one good way to start is getting the lines back to the right size and lengths. Once that is done, pull the supply line off the fuel pump and stick a gas can full of diesel up front, run you some line from the gas can into the supply side of the fuel pump. Bleed the...
Thank you for the reply. I am hoping it stays in place pretty well. It is not really what I was expecting from LMC's picture. I thought it would be a heavier thicker material kind of like a tough mat.
Would love to see some pictures of your rubber mat installation if anyone has done it. I am about to install it over some hushmats heat/sound barrier and would like to see how it looks. I am a little worried as there are no kick panels and other things to help hold the rubber mat in place like...
Mainsail I love everything about your setup. What kind of range are you getting with that antenna and radio? I am in the process of trying to get those same windows on the back with vent wings. I found a guy with a pair in dallas but shipping is not worth it. I dig your rig thanks for the...
Mainsail I love that setup. I was curious if the top could hold up a tent. I really love that radio setup. Im still only a technician but wouldn't mind going for general. Thanks a ton for the pictures, really nice setup. Do you have a roof rack under the tent? If so I would love to see some...
I have no desire to do extreme off roading. Ill keep it stock but will upgrade the suspension just for better ride and handling. Thanks for the info. to you all. I will definitely insulate so it keeps the noise down and heat down. Just an hour riding in it now can drive you nuts from the engine...
