no idea. I installed the same 200a with the N3135 and did not connect the ground (per the instructions). Everything worked fine - and I later hooked up a separate 12v supply for accessories and all worked fine. I would disconnect it and check again.
I made a set of half doors for my HMMWV out of 1/4" 6061 - used hard door hinges and some paddle latches - see here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?170089-Thinking-about-making-some-half-doors
Well - I finally got around to picking up some 1/4" plate aluminum and hardware - and made the 1/2 doors. They work really well - just need to add some c-channel for an arm rest and repaint the camo pattern on that back door 😬
Yes - the paddle latch is spring loaded. There is no movement whatsoever when it's closed.
Im' essentially reproducing what I've seen some aftermarket vendors do with 1/2 doors. Here . . .
Am I sure? No. The paddle latch is stout - it overlaps the wire striker plenty. Might the wire start to bend? Maybe - although the doors won't weigh a whole lot more than the soft doors. That's why I said I was thinking about fabricating a solid latch/striker for the dead latch to catch...
The paddle latch handle has a dead latch that closes on the soft door latch. I'm thinking about fabricating an aluminum latch - but it closes really well as-is. We'll see once I cut and install the aluminum doors.
Found a set of hard door hinges and picked up some door handles and some trim lock seal - and fabbed it all up to fit. I'm going to pick up some 1/4" 6061 and get it cut and installed on all 4 doors. Game on.
After looking at some of the aftermarket half doors - and seeing the prices . . . I'm thinking about making my own. Anyone know if the stock 1/2 doors are 1/4" 6061? I decided to mock some up out of 1/4" ply just to see what the might look like.
I kind of like them - and want to get some...
I have the rapco flat black (gallon) and tried a touch up with an off the shelf rattle can flat black enamel and it's not a perfect match. It's close - so if you're painting all the black with an off the shelf product - I think you're fine.
and - the Rapco CARC "Substitute" is nothing more...
The fan clutch was stuck - so it wasn't just the plug. First dozen or more times I added air the fan wouldn't move in and out. It took quite a while to get it unstuck. Once it was moving freely with the air. - I reassembled and started the truck - and the fan stayed on. Found the...
Problem fixed. Took quite a bit of time with the air and some light taps - but it eventually broke free. Amazing how much quieter it is too. Oddly enough - the TDM was unplugged too (wires were underneath the cadillac valve). Plugged it in and the fan disengaged. Took it for a ride until it...
Interesting. My HMMWV never gets above 190 degrees - and I've never heard that "loud" sound of the fan coming on - now I know why . . . Must be on all the time.
I'm going to check the clutch pack tomorrow. Where do I apply air to try to get everything to move? What psi?
Thx
