There are a couple of 4-man soft top sets in the classified ads. I'm selling a complete tan set . . . Someone else's has a full camo set. Wish I would have seen the camo set before I bought new online.
Has this been documented anywhere? I've searched for stories about title and registration "revocations" and can't find anything on the interweb. Not saying it hasn't happened - I'm wondering whether this is more folklore than reality . . . My HMMWV is titled and registered/plated - and...
I'm getting ready to prep my HMMWV for paint - and am thinking about filling some of the holes it's acquired over time. I've attached pictures of a few - some remain from where the antenna bracket was, others from where the troop carrier apparatus was, others are in/on the tunnel.
I seem to...
The 14v post does not get grounded on that setup. I had the same question with the N3135 and N1225-1 setup - here is the installation diagram: http://www.ceniehoff.com/Documents/Ctrl_Hyperlink/II0028D_uid121020091201492.pdf
pay attention to the notes - when used with the N1225-1, the...
my understanding is the 12v fuse block should come off the bottom battery - not a direct feed off the alternator. I've been told (but don't know for sure) that the battery "condtions" the current from the alternator. The alternator will provide 14v - and will have an occasional minor spike. I...
thanks. The 14v output from the Niehoff N3135 is max 50amp. 6AWG is more than sufficient to carry that load (at that short length). That said - I'll probably make some 4AWG cables to get it done.
My HMMWV has the Niehoff N3135 Dual Voltage Regulator (28v / 14v). It was installed when I purchased it. I looked up the Niehoff installation instructions - have a question about the install - and about getting 12v power from my existing 2-battery set up.
I've done my fair share of wiring...
So - I'm mulling over some changes to my HMMWV - trying to figure out which way to go with my soft top / doors.
I currently have a nearly new tan 4-door soft top kit. It's really in excellent condition - kit is only a few months old and truck is stored indoors. Pictures attached. I'm...
I wrote Rapco and they explained it all to me. Might have been evident to others - but, to the extent it's helpful to some, here's what they say:
The CARC Substitute paints are simply called that to identify them as matching current CARC colors - nothing more. The don't have a 383 Black...
Well - I've decided I'm repainting 3-color camo. Gillespie has the 383 Brown (30051) CARC substitute - but only has the 911 Flat Black. Rapco says it's the black used in 3-color camo - but it's not CARC substitute. So - what's the difference?
I picked up a pair of the 6TL adapter trays from Real Custom Trucks LLC - $31.50 / pair.

I'm replacing a half shaft tomorrow. TM says to replace lockwashers. I'm going to pick up some Nordlocks tomorrow - just wondering whether I should pick up new bolts while I'm at it.
Thx

Keeping up with part of this - here's the date stamp right rear block on my rig. It's a '93 HMMWV with a 6.5L. Valve covers and manifold painted black. No emissions sticker on the valve cover. Date stamp on block is 06 03 R. GEP engine block June 3, 2009?
My HMMWV has some pretty good positive rear wheel camber. I suspect it's mostly becuase it's set up to haul a heavy load. I looked at the TM - and camber is adjusted by shimming the upper control arm. That said - I have two thin shins on one side and only one thin shim on the other. Removing...
I'm getting ready to paint my HMMWV (inside, outside, and some of the undercarriage). I've searched and read just about everything I could on paint prep and degreasers - and have seen a few products mentioned ranging from regular household cleaners (simple green) to caustic products (wild dog)...

$12.5K for a non-running HMMWV with driveshaft on the passenger seat?
I picked up a HMMWV last week - and the seller gave me two new one-gallon cans of Gillespie (GCI) 383 Green (34094) paint.
I've tried to do some research on the different variations of CARC paint (solvent, WD, "substitute," etc.) and am a bit confused. Before I start messing with this stuff -...
