I'm troubleshooting the same problem. Where did you wind up purchasing the diode from. Do you have a part number? Thanks, Travis

    MEP-802a & 803a

Thanks 10Lugger I was flipping the switch but it was leaking fuel so badly I was doing too much at once and just decided to shut her down. Hopefully I can get a filter with new gaskets today and start her up again. That's too bad Ratch hopefully you can get it fired up soon. I noticed some...

    MEP-802a & 803a

I picked up my 802a this morning and I have to say I feel extremely lucky and fortunate. Rows of Humvees waiting for Captain Crunch. Brings tears to my eyes. They were very careful loading it into my truck. This is next lot of gens coming up for auction. The 2nd and 3rd lot looked much...

802'a from the March 3rd Sale

I'm picking mine up tomorrow at 8:30. I won one with an exhaust flap so I'm hopeful. Will report back.

    MEP-802a & 803a

I'm in the same boat as you Ratch, I managed to win one this time around. The difference is I am very suburban on a quarter acre lot. I think my neighbors will be glad to see my 002 leave. I also won't feel so bad about exercising mine during non emergency events. Hopefully we get ones that...

    Recent MEP 802A report

Hmm I didn't think about that with the resets. I'm obviously hoping for the later. Trying to decide whether to take off this Friday or next Friday. Next Friday would work better but I'm afraid someone will steal my exhaust flap and battery tie downs if I wait too long. Were you able to combine...

    Recent MEP 802A report

Despite having started this thread and reading all the replies I was the high bidder on one of the sets yesterday. I really narrowed my biddng field down to units with an exhaust flapper. Unit was a Tier two Reset in 2010 with 1100 hours on it. I paid $800, hopefully I can recoup some of that in...

    Recent MEP 802A report

BrendanB, glad to hear it started. Did you just get the engine running or does it generate power too without that missing relay? I was trying to avoid the ones that were missing flaps but that strategically placed snow made that tough. Good luck to everyone else getting their's started. This may...

    Recent MEP 802A report

I noticed some had the top panels removed at some point which did worry me. But there were a lot that looked like everything was in place. Was there something you guys saw in person that couldn't be seen in the pictures that made the complete looking machines a bad deal? Why are the considered...

    Recent MEP 802A report

While I managed to get outbid on all of the recent MEP-802a that I was looking at. Most of them closed just higher than my $800 price range. I'm still curious to hear from anyone picking one up this week to see what kind of shape they were in. Add batteries, fluids, produce electricity?

    MEP-802a & 803a

My neighborhood consists of small lots, 1/4 acre or less. I currently have my Mep-002a about 50 feet from my house but that puts it about 25 feet from my neighbors house. No one has complained and they have their own screamer from a big box store but I've also been on the lookout for an ASK kit...

    MEP-802a & 803a

So does anyone know whether or not a 002A with an ASK would be quieter than a stock 802a? Thanks, Travis

    Post your H45 heater setups

It will be in a detached (50 feet away) garage. The walls are 12" block. If there's a fire and I'm not covered it wouldn't be good but not the end of the world either. So I guess no one installs these permanently?

    Post your H45 heater setups

I am impatiently awaiting the arrival of my new H45 heater that I bought from Uncle Sam's Surplus on Black Friday. I am planning on installing it in my woodshop and was wondering if anyone has any pictures of their heater installed permanently. Do you actually use a military tripod for the fuel...

I just ordered the IS-24-L for $40 shipped, can't beat that, thanks!

    Which Solargizer for MEP?

I went to turn over my MEP-002 in cold weather for the first time and it almost started on the first crank but when I tried cranking the second time you could tell the batteries didn't have enough umph. With all the revisions and NSN number I am having a hard time telling what the difference is...

Picked up my first MEP-002A today

Jerry, I thought that too especially since the overheat sensor was disconnected when I got it. But I jumped the overheat connector and it didn't have any effect. But for some reason I as soon as I jump the starter cutout it kicks right off. I just haven't had a chance to get out there and look...

Picked up my first MEP-002A today

That makes a lot of sense. Now that I know it is basically working, I have to decide where to put it and how to wire it into the house. Then I can really load test it. Thanks
