Check the manual but I think that is too much. 3% or 1.8Hz drop with a full 100% step load from 0% to 100% is a typical spec and not always easy to achieve, I might add. I would settle for 4%. That set is around 6%. I don't know how these 002A's are set up but most of the mil spec non...
Yeah, that's not like the ones on the smaller units. See below for the ones I have dealt with. The big component with the foam on it is the adjustable pot. This style was easy to solder in new caps.
Okay, thanks for the info. Not being reconnectable makes it much less attractive. The engine is an americanized version of the super reliable Lister Petter SR3. Three cylinder air cooled. 18hp at 1800 rpm. A thread on smokestack said the bellhousing was not an SAE standard which precluded...
Hi I'm looking at a Viet Nam (or earlier) era military 10 kw diesel generator with a name plate that says it is a 4 wire 3 phase unit. Does this mean only four wires exit from the generator head in a Wye configuration and each of three windings is made common internally to neutral? Reason I...
Okay here are some pics. CR6 is a very small one next to CR7. I started wide then zoomed in.
Let us know how it goes. There is a whole lot of procedure to diagnose that board but, interestingly it is nothing but a bunch of standard resistors, capacitors, diodes, transisters, and a...
I'm not as familiar with the larger meters as I tend to work on the smaller units and their meters are a little smaller in diameter. They are typically micro amps full scale. Most have tiny print barely readable on their face. It might read 20uA FS which would mean 20 micro amps full scale. So...
The meters have a very small max to full scale. Usually the ultra fine print on the meter face will say what is full scale.
I pull the frequency box and attach a 120vac household suicide cord to it and then put a known good meter on it. Leave it on overnight if drift is an issue.
Most of...
Sometimes the 400 hz units are in really really nice condition. If so and if a very poor condition 60 hz unit can be found for, say $250 - $350 then a conversion is practical if hobby time does not count. The remains of the doner unit can probably be parted out for more than the doner cost and...
There is probably more people on here bidding then you realize!
I have had pretty good luck with the little ones too. But there is not much margin in them once the costs of getting them gets factored in. Usually they can be made to run pretty easy but to really get them right and reliable they...
Try moving the float a little with everythng hooked up to the battery. Possibly the contacts are bad in the float and allowing enough current through to get a reading but not enough for the load of the pump. Also make sure there is a good ground. Are you running the pump when it is mounted...
This is going to sound crazy but lift the float switch a little and it might start pumping. For some reason I have seen if the fuel gets too low the pump won't work due to float switch shutting off. I have sandblased the inside of many tanks and when put back together too little fuel does not...
Yes, just unplug the pump wire and put 24vdc to it. The pump body is ground. I usually first unplug the wire and put 24vdc to it with my gen frame ground lug (bottom of skid) back to the neg on my 24vdc test battery.
If the pump still does not work then I remove the pump and test on the bench...
That is not a critical application and practically any method of sealing will work. As long as the gasket or "fix" is not too thick or too flexible where the joint could relax you will be fine.
Options that would work:
Put sealer on both sides of the existing gasket halves and install...
Right on, Derf. I posted my response above based on a test I did earlier this year when my compressor and blower were started separately. Since then I had my A/C "fixed". They removed the burnt blower time delay relay board and installed a hard relay to get me going. Now the 802A does not...
Very good find. I was watching that auction but I'm too far a way. Hope you can get them runing with minimal effort. You will enjoy them they are excellent machines.
Unfortunately, a lot of trailer tires are junk these days. Plus they are only rated for 65 mph which puts them at their...
On a single phase system the neutral carries a full load equal to hot leg #1 if hot leg #2 is zero load and vice versa. The current in the neutral decreases in proportion to the increase in current in hot leg #2. This is because the two hot leg phases are 180 degrees apart and as current travels...
