    HEMTT Fluid/Filters

Isn't it an Allison HT-740, just like the Freightliner M916A1? NAPA should have all the filters for your engine, canisters included....if need be, you could pull the filter numbers off of the old ones.

    M923a2 Air Dryer rebuild

When I rebuilt mine I used electronics cleaner (in the spray can) and lots of long-reach Q-tips (as well as pipe cleaners), it's been working perfectly for well over a year now.

    m915 tire tread

315/80R22.5 would give you nearly the highest load capacity for the containers & a slightly taller profile.

dot approved copper tubing between compressor to air tanks

That's exactly what I did with mine, for the same reasons. Works great!

    Just got it home!!

Nice score William!! LV --> Reno isn't too bad...did you go through Fallon or through Yerington? I prefer via Fallon, it seems quicker. My friend is desperately trying to talk me into transporting his art car to & from Burning Man again this year.... Good score!

    A2 CTIS TMs

That's what I thought too, but I could hear air coming from this dump valve, and when I removed it I saw rust flakes & corrosion inside that were allowing air to escape (preventing proper operation). After removal, the tire stays inflated, and I had just cleaned/serviced the wheel turret as...

    A2 CTIS TMs

In short I have rebuilt/serviced every CTIS part except for the 3 Safety Relief Valves that mount between each pair of tires side-to-side...I had the CTIS working briefly after cleaning up the pressure transducer, then the left front tire started going flat. I quickly aired it back up manually...

    A2 CTIS TMs

A2 CTIS TMs (TM 9-2320-272-34P) Question While troubleshooting my CTIS system on my M931A2 and trying to find part numbers for possible replacement parts, I noticed that the -34P in the TM section of this forum is dated 1988 and only covers M939/M939A1 trucks...while doing a search of the...

    A2 self destruct system.

After monkeying around with trying to repair the CTIS system on my A2 for several months now, I'm wishing mine had that function!! Or at least a way to make it self-immolate....

    M939 Homemade Battery Relocation Project

I should have just bitten the bullet and paid the freight shipping fee! Once I got the two toolboxes welded together, I realized just how bulky & heavy the relocation boxes really are!! I hope yours found a new home after all...thanks again for your help & patience!

    blinker issue worsens

What Gimp said... It's common on these older vehicles to have rust buildup between the bolts/nuts/washers/contacts/frame. Disassemble each one, comletely clean the rust/paint/garbage off until you have bare metal contacts between all of these points, then reconnect & tighten down. Make sure...

Tucson to Ft Bliss to OKC to Ft Riley to St Louis, and back.

Oh that sucks...last year I had the passenger-side rear tire blow out the sidewall while towing a loaded trailer; not fun, and the CTIS adds to the work. Hope you get some good rest tonight!

    M939 Homemade Battery Relocation Project

Thank you! If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't...it was about 2 months' worth of work, and in the end it would have been easier to have mounted a pair of Group 31 batteries inside the stock passenger-side toolbox, relocate the wiring, and call it a day! But by the time I realized...

    M939 Homemade Battery Relocation Project

Now to the not-so-fun part: installing the batteries with their plastic battery box holders. On the top box, where I planned on using the plastic M939-series battery holder, I had to weld in some risers for the box to ride on. The handles were mounted too low on the box to rest level inside...

    M939 Homemade Battery Relocation Project

I removed the stock slave cable setup from the truck's cab, and figured that by removing the inner reinforcement mounting section, I could make a new mount on the relocation box much easier. However, by this time it was apparent that as narrow as the width is inside the relocation box, I had to...
