    Brake fluid question

Color Kind og bogus also that the Silicone brake fluid is supposed to be the color Purple to help identify it, but that it can break down to a yellow or amber color that would lead you to think that it might be another fluid (DOT 3 or 4). Doesn't seem very foolproof. Just my thought but the...

    0-120 Oil Gauge Installation

On both the 0-60 PSI and the 0-120 PSI gauges, the ribbed connector MS33800 Style 2 should be connected to the SENDER (Oil Pressure Transmitter). The smooth connector MS33800 Style 1 should be connected to the IGNITION (24 Volts DC when the ignition is on). If you hook the gauge up wrong you...

    Another spinon primary filter install

Filter threads Excellent thread on this issue. I got the filter mount NAPA 4770 (WIX 24770) and the filter NAPA 3405 (WIX 33405) from my local NAPA store (both in stock) and installed them per this post and it came out great! California CDL: Another Clarification (long)

It looks like all the confusion regarding whether the truck was commercial, had airbrakes, was registered Historic, etc has been removed from the 2011 edition of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) and you need a Class B license to drive it in Californis. The M35A2’s unladen weight is over...

dual brake system A3 vs A2

PS PS I've got an early 80's M35A2 w/o winch and the mod was not done on this truck.

dual brake system A3 vs A2

Mod order There must be a Maintenance Work Order (MWO) or other instruction (Depot level modification??) that has the detailed parts and mdification work detailed on how to do this modification. I'm guessing an MWO tag would have to be added to any modified truck to alert maintenance folks...

A3 pickup from Barstow, front flat tire

Vin Hey, I forgot. This truck should still have the original A2 VIN stamped on the frame, if I remember right it should be on the foreward frame drivers side.

A3 pickup from Barstow, front flat tire

Truck year Contract no. DAAE07-93-C-R110........ 93 is the year the contract was let/signed which is 1993. Since the truck cannot legally be bought by the government until the contract is signed your truck should be 1993 or newer.

    Brake fluid question

Thanks Thank you both! I guess I'm kind of stunned that folks report that the silicone brake fluid which is supposed to be a purple color has actually turned an amber or yellow color on them over time (too hard to argue with facts and reality). Your input is much appreciated. I'll try the...

    Brake fluid question

1982 M35A2 bought from the government thru government liquidation. Brake fluid in master cylinder low, plus leak at one of the rear wheel cylinders, so I need to fix wheel cylinder leak (possibly bleed) and top off fluid. There is the usual MIL-B-46176 sticker on the underside of the master...

    Transfer Case Seal Replacement

A 12-point socket doesn't work to take off nut on the companion flange on the transfer case. The walls of the 12-point are too thick to fit between the nut and the inside wall of the flange. NAPA sells a 1/2 inch drive 6-point socket and that will fit to take the nut on and off. If you need...
