Help, whats this on my 42' tipper?

What's wrong with the paint??? I like the diamonds on the dump bed. I'm just marveling at how clean & straight all that vintage sheet metal is...nice job!! Nice truck! I've got a 1943 G7117 winch truck, but no bed...I hope mine looks as nice as yours does, someday!!

WOW, what a VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE build! NICE work, I gotta subscribe to this thread... Thanks for sharing, that is fantastic!

Get rid of that biodiesel, for new MV buys

I agree about ethanol being crap, but the more I research biodiesel, the more I like it for my Dodge with Cummins motor (the IP is lubricated by the fuel; already replaced one that ULSD killed). With a little bit of work, the copper fuel lines could be replaced in my Deuce by either steel...

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints

Typically, with oil-based enamels, they don't fully cure ("gas out") for at least 3 weeks after application. Low temperatures and higher humidity levels will extend this curing time.

Has anyone swapped a light duty truck cab onto a Deuce chasis?

I recently saw a truck for sale in Southern California on CL; it was a 1960 or 61 Ford F100 longbed that was grafted onto a bobbed Deuce frame...I think someone swapped in a gas V-8, if I remember correctly.

Has anyone swapped a light duty truck cab onto a Deuce chasis?

Yes, to a point. I've got an 86 GMC 3/4-ton pickup that I'm going to transfer the cab & engine to a 94 Kodiak 5500 frame (with Hydro-Max!!). This truck has a Detroit Diesel engine that needs a flip-front hood. 1973-87 Chevy medium-duty trucks (Kodiaks, C-50/60/70) used the same cabs and cab...

    Just got free UMO

Thanks fellas!! I'm really leaning towards the Wolverine products; I like to support our "local" vendors, and I've heard nothing but good things about their products. I find I need to use a settling tank because of some of the suspect WMO I've been getting from friends & neighbors...some folks...

NAPA part numbers for WMO filter set up.

I've been using the Racor 5GPM (RFF8C) to filter raw WMO into a 55-gallon drum holding tank (until I get my filtering station built), and I find it pretty frustrating. It will hold up to 1/3 of its volume in water just fine, but there's no way to tell when it water reaches this level as it is...

    Just got free UMO

Awesome, thanks very much! I'll put in a drain petcock at the very bottom to drain off the water, antifreeze, and debris; I'll install another drain valve about 5-6" above the bottom of the barrel for the clean oil. Thank you!!

    M105A2 Recovery

Work on these has been stalled due to electrical problems with my Dodge truck...I finally finished up on my truck, so I hope to load these 2 trailers up on my big equipment-hauling trailer so I can take them to the DMV to get titled. That way, by the time I finish these 2 trailers, the titles...

Algae oil grown in continous photobioreactor.

I'll be up your way in August for a family reunion; if you're in production, I'll bring a tank trailer or at least several 55-gallon drums to purchase from you. I'm still trying to get my UMO filtering process straightened out!

Algae oil grown in continous photobioreactor.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to actually read up on it instead of relying on someone's opinion....dangit!

Algae oil grown in continous photobioreactor.

When I chatted with a distributor about the B5 & B20, he told me that these were Ethanol-based and didn't offer any lubricating benefits over ULSD. Is he missing something? Or am I?

    Just got free UMO

I work in an industrial park that contains many race teams & custom auto builders, and have developed several sources for used motor oil. I've started the coarse filtering and have found that most of the oil contains water and/or antifreeze. My filtering process (based on ones you folks here...

Algae oil grown in continous photobioreactor.

I'm especially encouraged by the increase in lubricity; my Dodge Cummins IP is lubricated by the fuel, and ULSD already claimed one IP. Now I add Stanadyne Lubricity formula to each tank fill-up, increasing my cost per gallon for ULSD crap. Any decrease in performance from algae-grown...

Algae oil grown in continous photobioreactor.

You mentioned rice farmers, does that place you in the Sacramento area? Once you get this up & running, I'll have to buy a fuel tanker so I can make monthly trips to your place to bring back fuel for all my vehicles. :D

    Show us your Military Trailers

This is exactly what I want to do to one of my M105A2 trailers (my quad hauler)!! I plan on moving the fenderwells up to the bottom of the bed lip to make more room for the tires when off-road...it shouldn't be too hard, as I'm finding out from a current rebuild of a rust-bucket M105A2 -...
