Thanks,Oil type has always been a big debate.I know back when these trucks where built oil was much different. Most of these old trucks ran a straight weight type oil and mostly non detergent.I had a Mighty Mite a few years back and the Mite guys tore me up about what oil to use.I generally will...
I just picked up a M715.I would like to change the oil in it but I haven't gotten my TMs yet. What grade oil is used in the 230 engine? Also,The gas pedal linkage looks to be home made to me.The truck has a holly carb on it and the linkage is a cable that looks to have been made to work,But...
Well,Still no low beams.I tested both headlights with a jumper wire directly from the positive side of the batteries.High beam worked,Low beam did not.So I replaced both headlights.BUT still no low beams:-x.So far I have replaced the dimmer switch,Both headlights and the main light switch.Its...
I think you might have solved my problem. When I turn on the driving lights and switch the floor dimmer to low beamI have no low beams. But if I slowly switch the dim lever on the main headlight switch,The low beams come on for a few seconds.I have another switch ,So I will try the new one and see...
I will try that this weekend.Wire 16 at the dimmer is a hot wire.It feeds the dimmer power. So that is why I jumped from there.I would think by using 16 wire as my power source,The bulb would light if I touched the jumper wire to the terminals on the back of the bulb.Like I said one terminal did...
Thanks for the schematic,Very helpfull.Ok,I,ve done some testing.I disconnected the dimmer switch by pulling all 3 wires off the switch. With a jumper wire I jumped from the 16 wire(hot wire) at the dimmer to 17 terminal on the back of the headlight. The light went on.Then I switched to the 18...
Well,I replaced the dimmer switch with a brand new one and still only have high beams.I also switched the 18 and 17 wire around,But when I do this I have no head lights at all.Could there be a inline fuse somewhere???Im thinking of buying two new headlights,But I'm not really sure that is the...
I just got a M923 cargo truck.Everything works great,But I have no low beams.I checked the headlights and they are both fine. The high beam switch works well,But I am thinking the low beam side of the switch may be bad.Wiring all looks good.Is their any solenoids or fuses I do not know about??
When the steering box was in the 2WD truck it was bolted with the out put shaft facing down. When I bolted it in the M886 the out put shaft is facing out toward the tire.I had to change the arm from the box.The 2wd has a flat arm and the M886 has a bent drop arm.
I installed power steering on my M880 last year .No problem ,Everything went smooth.I decided to do the same to my M886 today.Everything bolted right on.BUT,When I went to test it before putting the wheels back on I noticed it was steering backwards. When I turn it left it goes to the right and...
M35 bed,Some type of home made fuel tank and 900X20 tires on it.The truck looks to be a early 42 model only because of the GMC badge on the grille. If it runs and drives,A CCKW is worth it in any condition.
Was there a water proof ignition system avaliable for the M880 truck. You know,Like the M37 had. I've seen parts on E Bay that are said to be for a M880 shielded ignition. Is that what they are calling water proof??
I have a Cucv Blazer that has been giving me problems with starting. It would always start but I would have to cycle the glow plugs two or three times before it started. This was common in hot and cold weather.I decided it might be time to change the glow plugs and fuel filter. This didnt make much...
I want to install power steering on my 77 M880.I have two parts trucks avaliable. One is a early 80,s the other is a bit later (87).Will the 80,s parts bolt right in or do I have to modify things?Would it just be easier to find a 70,s truck?
