As entertaining as Shipping Wars is, I have used UShip a couple of times to include hauling a car from a Copart facility. The haulers were very professional, easy to deal with, and very reasonable. I would at least take the time to look into UShip, there are many other LTL carriers around the...
Nice Rig, I was reading your build thread and it helped answer a few questions that I was pondering. So how often do you take your rig off the beaten path?
I can wholly agree with the affording a restoration, and nothing that I own is truly stock. My CUCV changes will be inexpensive mod's and updates but nothing too expensive until I can move some other toys out of my possession.
If it ain't broke, modify it!
This is a very interesting thread, I applaud all who have commented already. I am in a similar quagmire of what to do to my M1009. Mechanically my CUCV will remain stock, maybe later in life I will swap the engine to a newer model or add a Banks Turbo to the engine but as a whole she will...
Thanks for the info, so 1 quart per tank is sufficient? Forgive me if this is a stupid question but this is my first Diesel and I want to make certain that I do not Eff her up in any way by lack of knowledge or experience.
Also, is Diesel Help worth anything?
Well I can try. I will add some material under the hood and try to do something with the interior noise. At least as it sits now, I cannot hear her B!&$#ing at me for another toy! :D
I have had the same thoughts that you shared above, but when dealing with a woman AND wanting to spend time in my toys at the same time I need to look for her comfort more than my utility. I have thought about herculining the interior and if it didn't quiet down enough for her then adding the...
I have been reading adding 2 stroke oil to the fuel of a CUCV, you say 20-50. Which one is better or is 20-50 cheaper than the 2 stroke for you? I am hunting for ways of operating the CUCV in a cheaper fashion, so any input is greatly appreciated.
Mechanically I am leaving a good thing alone, other than doing a relay mod, spin on fuel filter, and maybe a tranny swap the running side of the truck will be stock.
The exterior will retain all of the CUCV parts, they just might be a different color. The interior is another story. I will be...
She has been rolling her eyes at me when we go to a local auction and the owner has a 6by that I oogle over every time we go past it. At this point I am not allowed to have any more toys until I get rid of some and then move to a house that has a barn or something to hide my toys from her. We...
