I actually chucked those into the trash. They are nicer than stock but really unless you're going to use the truck as a 2.5 ton vehicle just dump those springs. I don't highly recommend those at all. Remove the shocks and push up and down. I bet you have 3.75 inches of shock shaft showing...
I used m998 shocks because I had a set of new ones lying around. They aren't terrible with a little speed. But the cost was 25 each so that's hard to beat. On my truck I have fully adjustable 2.5". I only cut off a 1/4 of a coil in the rear. 1 full in the front. They sagged a little...
No body lift. That is a stock 1152. After is softens up it should ride a little lower. As for being too low, mid travel should be 23 inches hub to fender.
The ram coils don't fit nearly as well as the armadas. Hence they don't work. And the Armada in the rear is the bare minimum and will for most peoples purposes, all they need to do.
a solution aside from what? the coils work.
the ram coils dont work. i started with those. besides, they made like 50 different ones and it was impossible keeping track of them.
2 inch/4 inch. It doesn't matter. 27.5-28" is max. That means the shafts are rubbing the cups on the cv axles. The ball joints are near their limits. The rubber inside the arm bushings are most likely shot. The camber is damn near unadjustable. And it's going to ride like shit no...
For specifics. I am running the 4x4 coil with the heavy duty mounts. I cut off 3/8 of a turn off. Essentially a 1" step. I am sitting right at 24.5 to 25 inches from center of hub to fender. Which is the only way to measure it. I have a 2 inch body lift. Max travel is 17ish max...
There's 3 sets of springs and 2 sets of mounts. Any combo could work I suppose for ride height, rate etc. I personally use heavier coils with the heavy mount because of upgraded shocks.
I believe it was. Thats the 16.5"l x .81"d spring. The AC Delco ones are an exact match and i have used both. It all about price on any given week. Looks and works great with the heavy duty mount imo. An option i havent tried is using the 16" 4x4 with the stock mount. Trimming a little...
The ride height is not dependent on spring rate. It is dependent on spring length. So the question i now have is whats too low? Nobody seems to answer that question before getting a particular spring. I used the armada springs in the front and I felt they were too long for the given...
I used a router personally but you could use a table saw, reciprocating saw or even just leave it. The router allows you to ease the inside corner of the spacer to fit over the lip of the mount. The spacer has a flat bottom and mount has a lip.
I have since upgraded to coilovers in the...
I came up with this. It works. But I have a lighter vehicle m998. I also used the 1" daystar spacer cut down a 1/4" to give me a 24" ride height hub to fender.
