    N Arizona SEE Unimog

So I had a few min to take the SEE out and test the backhoe attachement. Everything worked just fine though it looks like I need to put new seals on the cylinders on the boom. The hoses also need to be replaced as most of them have some dry rot issues and a few that are leaking.

    N Arizona SEE Unimog

Did only a little work today due to the cold weather. I fixed the mess of wires that was the starter switch and got the starter cover back on. The cover is going to need some work to get it to fit right again but that will be a project for another day.

    N Arizona SEE Unimog

Good news! The SEE is up and running. For the first time it was the easiest to replace and cheapest part that was the problem. It was the #3 fuse for the starter switch about 70 cents at the local NAPA. Once it was replaced (it is the red fuse in the photo) the SEE fired right up. Did not have...

Clinton, I took out all the relays on the firewall and cleaned them but did not seem to make a difference. I ordered some new relays and I will try replacing them. The only thing I was able to get done was to take the batteries out and charge them all night and I was also able to find all the...

    N Arizona M1028 Build Thread

Where to start with what is going on. This all started back in Arizona when I wanted to change to lift pump on my M1028. I was at the store and I needed a 10mm wrench to get the bolts out and I decided that I would get the cheap china made auto store wrench to do the job. I figured who can mess...

mtjbrown the insulation was included with the floor. I got some work done on the truck the other weekend with the help of my dad who was in town. We started to trace down a Gen 1 light that would not come on and ended up with the dash apart. Changed out all the bulbs and cleaned all of the...

Well got the new floor in tonight. I got it from stock interiors and it was good quality. It was a pain to get in but not really all that hard all it took was about 10 times taking it in and out of the truck. I did learn a lot doing it though so if any one is planing on doing this let me know. I...

Now that I have the seat out of the truck I figured it was a good time to do anything that I needed to do under the dash. So I did Doghead's starter relay mod. It was very easy thanks to the thread. The only thing I would add is to have two 1/4-20 X 1/2" bolts on had to bolt the relay to the...

    m1008 Paint issue

My truck had oil spilled under the seat at some point and I have been trying several was to remove the oil from the CARC paint. Dish washing soap works ok if there is not much oil there. Lacquer Thinner works but if you are not careful the paint will wipe off. I am going to try a few other...

Well little more progress. I pulled the vinyl floor out and the insulation was pretty gross so I tore that out as well. Just when I thought I was out of the sanding and painting business it looks like I have some more to do. Jett1 I hope you find a good one. I have had a lot of fun working on...
