Last 10 Ton from Beyel Bros.

I suggest you dub it the "prius killer" and make haste to harrass and harang the brussel sprouts and tofu crowd.

    Is this an A3 filter??

Thanks guys - the multi hole gasket threw me off - I figure it has a purpose but not sure for what since my A2 filter canisters are all single bolt. Then it occured to me it might be the cracker jack prize in the kit :-P

    Is this an A3 filter??

I have recently acquired 2 pallets of surplus parts - mainly bearings and filters for CUCV and 2.5t trucks. I'm presently sorting through the stuff to see what I have and found numerous filter kits NSN 4300-00-884-4801 The kit consists of a fluid filter/ some cotter pins and gaskets - but...

    17 mpg?

hard to say, though I have yet to see my a2 guzzle diesel, but I don't put much stock in the fuel guage; with that said I have yet to burn through a whole tank in on drive (but I should state that I low shift at 1500-1600 rpm and generally tool around doing 35 in 5th). It also helps to keep...

Got rid of my 156ft vessel!

Thanks for the story... I too concur with the romantic notion of wanting to own and save her that many feel, but realize, like you did, it would take more than one man working night at day on her to keep up with the maint and regulatory headaches.

    Scouts get new Deuce...won't start

a shot in the dark here... check the engine stop portion of the IP and make sure it is not stuck - if it is you can remove stop cable and the cover , then exercise the stop and add wd40 to loosen

    Hard top weight

Wish I'd know I just picked one up there earlier last month (7 hour run one-way from my house in Illinois) - 90% of the weight is the crate as I installed the hard top by myself . The crate fit nicely into the rear of a full-sized pick up. Best of luck

    Foam for passengers seat bottom?

kept the springs... I also kept the springs, ditched the dryrotten pad over them. I couldn't get fancy seatfoam at the local craft store: used 1/2 inch thick pad (two layers). I did fix the metal binders as needed on the springs. Covered the seat with olive drab duck surplus - had sis...

    C.A.R.C. Cost and Supply:

I believe NONOTAGAIN and the others have converted me away from the CARC lust... that and the price. Incidentally, I stopped by my local SW store (about 3 wks ago) and they said it was verboten in Illinois to sell the CARC because of some new (jan 09) stricter air quality such and such. He...

    Finding U6TL Battery

I bought my batteries in town from a local Napa Dealer when I went to get my truck - they sold me 2 Redline 31PHD [875CCA @ 32 ; 775 CCA @0] which just fit snuggly into the plastic battery box. I think I paid 90 apiece, which is cheaper than a tow bill off post:-P

Pics of some inside cab "upgrades"

I must say it's inspiring: I used roll on bed-liner for the cab floor when I did the bed last summer, but I'm temped to paint it now! I like the seats! And the handle inspires copycat urges.....

    Deuce has hard brakes

I paid 35 for a gallon at Napa - seems DOT 5 is an oddity elsewhere. Thanks for the posts tho - have notice the brakes being squishy on my 72 duece, just thought it was age though. Had consider bleeding them, but not all the thrilled at the idea.. Anybody have suggestions on this? Or...

    Deuce vs couch

RE: Re: Deuce vs couch My brother in law and I use old sitting furniture for target practice (.22 cal semi rifles, and Soviet made M44 rifle) Occasionally the cousin comes over and lays down .30 and 9mm for fun. Would like to see what an tank or dozer could do with your used furniture!

    M35A2 Cold Weather Starting problems

RE: Re: RE: M35A2 Cold Weather Starting problems When I picked up my duece in early jan, bot batteries (u6 jobs) had died a cold death. I took them out and went to the nearest Napa. They gave me 2 semi batteries I believe 800 cca's and with a little elbo grease they stuffed into the battery...
