    Speed sensor testing.

Yes I pulled the speed sensor and measured it on the bench. It was 9.5 ohms. Measuring thru the pass thru on the second truck the speed sensor measured 271 ohms which is in range. My center diff solenoid also measures in the 3 ohm range.

    Speed sensor testing.

My 2001 m1078 a1 speedometer stopped working and locked into a gear. Tested the speed sensor and got 9.5 ohms at 70 degrees. My 2004 truck tested 271 ohms. Looks like I need an output speed sensor. The one located inside the transfer case. Has anyone tested the solenoid for c7...

    Transfer case help….M1078 2001

That would be great! I had mine in the shop today again. Checked the c7 coil and it seems to be very low impedance also. Checked voltage to the coil was a little over 26v idle in mode. Checked the top of the coil with a feeler gauge for magnetism, none. I didn’t have my scope at home but I...

    Transfer case help….M1078 2001

I haven’t got back to that problem yet. From what I’ve read it looks like the c7 solenoid is powered 12 volt. Not duty cycled? I haven’t checked yet but will when it warms up a little. I now have a second truck and can swap parts if needed. Also should have a known good electrical to compare...

    FMTV High Speed Gears

Hi Schmirgel, I don’t know if you know about Eco Hubs. They replace the 2:1 gear reduction units with direct drive. I’m going to be listing Eco Hubs for sale on a popular auction site . That site I’m told has very good rates on international shipping. The listing will be for one axle, so if...

Let me know when you’re ready. Will fix you up!

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

The spring would need to push against something, in this case it would be the outer hub or bolt adapter. The Delta lock is stationary and the other two pieces are turning. Not the best combination. The split collars work and work well. The amount of push or turning force that the axle nut...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I didn’t say the spacers were a feel good solution. The problem I see with spacers is that the distance between the wheel nut and the bolt adapter changes from truck to truck. Yes you can shim the inner gear to make it work. I don’t see that as a simpler solution or reducing insulation...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Spacers are not going to be available on Eco Hubs, the split collars that are current production are 1/2” thick and use a larger pinch bolt. What is in the works is what I’m calling ”Delta Locks”. They engage the fixed splines on the axle tube and the pins on the axle nut. The lock is held...

Hi Matthew, The thicker lock rings are available no problem. All the new sets ship with the thicker ones now. I haven’t had any problems with the thin ones. Other than a few being stripped out when installing the Allen screw. I also have a new lock plate in the works now to provide a...
