Hi Gimpyrobb,
I had the blue rotating engine stands gearbox apart when I first got it.
It had lock collars with set screws for end play, and I think the ring gear in the gearbox is welded to the tube.
I got a new digital camera for x-mas, I'll need to get it going and I'll take sum better...
5000 Lb engine stands from GL
Hi,
I picked these up last year from GL in Texas.
The Bowie, Hooks/Texarkana base is a pretty good drive from ATL, but I couldn't find a good engine stand to use for a couple of 5.9 Cummins swaps.
GL has sold diesel engine stands there several times, you just...
Hi,
I would normally have a 5hp service compressor with me, the bed full of firewood didn't make it possible this time. I have considered making a hose so I could use one of the mig welder tanks to fill tires & run air tools while out and about. I had fix a flat, I only use that as a last resort...
My son & I went and got my M105A2 @ the GA National Guard base in Calhoun GA last monday. I tried to kill 2 birds with one stone and that didn't work so well.
I was dropping off 1/2 cord of red oak in Mableton, then hitting 75N to calhoun to get the trailer. I traded the firewood for a 165K...
Hi,
The M105A2 I recovered monday from Calhoun GA has 11.00 R20 MICHELIN XL tires on it. We were in a hurry, but it looked like a couple of the GA National Guard deuces there had 11.00 R20 XL super singles on them. The M105A2 next to mine had 11.00 R20's on it also.
That's a very nice loading...
That might just be the way it is, I've seen engines that sort of fire up a few cyl at a time. I grew up on a farm, at least ya don't have to belt it to something else to spin it fast enough to start. LOL

temp readings
Hi
I rolled the MEP002a out of the shop about 11:00 am & took readings.
engine temp 49°F
primed fuel system, it only takes a couple of seconds for my fuel pump to slow down, when the jerry can adapter was sucking some air it took quite a while for pump to get slow.
Preheat 30...
Hi Carl,
I hose clamped a temporary piece of clear hose in my supply side to check for air leaks in.
I found my MFC adapter sucked quite a bit of air! So I cleaned my tank got it back on. My fuel gauge has a twisted square rod that runs up to the needle, float has a square in it that turns the...
Hi Carl,
Good to hear the MEP003A is running.
I was running my MEP002A off a Jerry can adapter because the fuel tank had some real nasty stuff in it. I looked in, took a sniff & told my son to remove the tank and set it outside. My gauge would have been stuck on "E" I just had to clean the...
