I can only imagine. One of my neighbors drove a semi for a long time, besides being a rodeo team roping guy, a rancher, and a few other occupations. Many stories...

    HMMWV engine bay wash

Hey all, I was wondering, in order to get the engine bay washed/pressure washed, what are the areas I need to pay attention to or completely avoid? I'm guessing most systems will be somewhat "waterproof" since it once had the deep water fording kit, but I wanted to know if you have...

    It's alive!!!

Really good to know, I'll have to get into the system once the new CDR valve gets here. Thanks!

    It's alive!!!

They were absolutely the best people I've met in a long time, friendly, respectful, calm. And hard working from what I gathered during the hand, foot and sign language interactions. Nothing negative to say. I wished some Americans I know would take a mental note...

    It's alive!!!

Thanks. I really don't ever want to find myself in a situation where is is wiser to go through 30" of water than to go around... Do I need to cap anything off, are there any open ports because of them taking the parts?

    It's alive!!!

Yea, I priced this one between $50 and $75 depending on availability and source. I couldn't find the fording version in the parts manual. Any idea on NSN? Just in case I'll consider. but all the other fording items seem to be removed, possibly. EDIT: Actually found it in the part 2 parts manual...

    It's alive!!!

Thanks TN Driver, all replies are greatly welcome, even and especially the contrary ones. They give me pause to think, and maybe even correct my line of thinking. As far as seeming to know what I am doing, I guess I got you fooled :p:cool::sneaky:;) When you say "seen in the parts diagram"...

    M998 tail light replacement issue?

Found the piece, it's spelled out on the lower half. but this is talking about the lens on the body, maybe not the issue you are having, or is it? When you say housing, do you mean the entire body or the lens?

    M998 tail light replacement issue?

Short answer, yes, there are compatibility issues going one way (not sure exactly going plastic to metal or vice versa) but I have a digital copy of the Army PS magazine on my computer at home. I will look for it tonight and forward it to you. This article spells out NSNs and what works and...

    It's alive!!!

Hmmm, I see your point. The Safety Data Sheet from it reads: So I am guessing it contains 80-100% Ethylene Glycol, that should work. If anyone has info contrary, please post. I haven't opened it yet.

    It's alive!!!

Awesome, good tips. Thank you. I'll need to bleed the brake system and refill with DOT 5. It is low, and the fluid is darker than I like. Coolant, I opted for the Prestone all vehicles at Wally World. Should be ok? Any ideas on the CDR valve, anyone? Thanks!

    It's alive!!!

Hey all, we finally survived the transport fiasco and managed to get the M1123 to the house yesterday morning. Not to mention, no advance notice, a quick text saying "We're at the gate". Probably due to some really spotty cell phone reception within 60 miles, or no reception for 4 hours if...

    Rear Curtain ideas?

Oh wow, thanks for the tip. I searched his handle and found this: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/hmmwv-m1097-diy-hard-top.219116/#post-2562048 Still looking for the original post of his build.

    Rear Curtain ideas?

Hey all, tomorrow is the big day, the xxx is supposed to arrive ( I don't have a name for the M1123 yet). As far as I know the only issues are no batteries, powers steering is inop (fluid, pump, other issues?), the heater duct between passenger and driver is disconnected, no soft top, no rear...

    Storage charges from the yard

I've messaged you, maybe we did?

    Storage charges from the yard

The broker said this kind of practice is becoming more and more common, that is why the have a drivers license check at the yard before anything gets picked up in their name. Too bad, I wonder how the truckers get away with this fraud? When did this happen to you?

    Storage charges from the yard

Awesome update: The truck was picked up and is on it's way. Wow, the agency/broker did finally come through. Also, they shared the background story a bit. Apparently they had assigned the haul to a fraudulent driver, who "double brokered".\ and was going to charge a full load instead of a...

    Storage charges from the yard

We'll, here we go. Got this email from GP this morning. I've been told, and some of your habe suggested to call them and figure things out. My broker still hasn't been able to fill the trip. FRUSTRATING Quote This is a reminder notice. Our records indicate that, at the date and time of this...

    Storage charges from the yard

Great news and awesome explanation. Thanks! It reads 60 days before the item is considered defaulted.
