    Horn button rubber cap question

Thanks you all for making me feel less like a complete moron! Here I was thinking, order from a US vendor, you get made in the US quality....silly me!

    Any Deuce support in Manitoba?

I am in the National Capital Region, too. You will be able to get many, many parts off the shelf at NAPA or other good autoparts stores. There is a cross reference list on this site (go to Resources - Technical manuals and then again to Resources - Parts cross reference list) so that the NAPA...

    Horn button rubber cap question

So I ordered a horn button kit from ODIron. Little plastic bag, a couple of springs, rubber doo-dahs and brass cups. Can't be difficult. Assemble and install. Half an hour later I am feeling like a moron. TM is no help as it shows a different style horn button assembly. I finally got it working...

    bumper unit marking question

Thanks. Yes, I found the info on google. "T" for "tactical" or "training"? S BN? I am still trying to figure out what the markings mean that are on my bumper.

    bumper unit marking question

Nice try! She's all mine! Al, I have to demolish the kitchen over the weekend and prep for floor heat and tiling. You can, however, stop by and do the axle seals on my truck in the meantime! I need to keep an eye on my priorities....happy wife, happy life :-) As soon as the work on my...

    Its time but im undecieded..

If you have the cash, buy an A3. Please do not bob it. Granted, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As far as I am concerned, a bobbed M35 is a destroyed truck. If it does not have one, you could always put a dropside bed on it to increase the useabilty factor.

Prepping Deuce for Winter Emergency Search/Rescue Assistance...NO JOKE

I think that this is cool (no pun intended) and your Deuce would provide valuable help. Many people are driving that could not withstand a sustained period of walking in inclement weather or have much resistance to cold (and misery). Thumbs up for providing help to them. I urge you to sit down...

    bumper unit marking question

After some light sanding I discovered the following on the passenger side of the front bumper: FRC 49 STR (or STB). The corresponding vehicle markings on the left are gone. According to CARNAC, my truck saw service in the W1E0 B CO S BN 1ST SPWAR T GRP Location:FT BRAGG SPWAR is special...

Why did you buy your deuce

It depends who I am talking to. "What are you going to do with it?" is by far the #1 question asked by the average crowd. - I rode in MVs in another life. Just walking up to my Deuce when it sits in the sun in my driveway and smelling the warm, oily odour brings back memories and feelings. -...

    brake hose/flex line replacement

I searched and also checked the online vendors. Short of taking all hoses off and matching them up one by one, is there a list of NAPA part# for replacing ALL flex brake lines on the Deuce? The cross-reference list does not appear to have them and the online vendors list single hoses, but not...

Virginia to Ontario, Canada Recovery Trip - Report

Yes, sir. You never signed anything to the contrary. It is just like any other used vehicle that you intend to sell.

Virginia to Ontario, Canada Recovery Trip - Report

Thank You! I was a little disheartened today. I mean...how can you miss five bad axle seals?? Then I set out and changed the alternator belts, fixed the charging problem (I think) and made the stop lights work again. That felt good. I am sure my truck is female. When she feels like it, she...

Virginia to Ontario, Canada Recovery Trip - Report

I believe in rules, safety and security. As non-US citizen, I can only observe certain things in the regulating structure, but I will not judge. As a Canadian, I cannot buy a truck, or any item, via GL (while the EUC is ambiguous with respect to citizens of "friendly" countries, GL only allows...

Virginia to Ontario, Canada Recovery Trip - Report

Summary : Just under 1000 miles (1600 km), two and a half days on the road and got to meet up with Westfolk. Unproblematic export/import (because I did my homework beforehand). Now parked in my driveway, with stuff to do before she can get plated. I became a member on this site years ago and...

    Recovery trip - assistance IN-CASE

I drove the truck close to 800 miles in the last two days and made it to Watertown, NY. Shut down for the night. Need to troubleshoot charging system tomorrow, my batteries are dying. Now...bed!

    Recovery trip - assistance IN-CASE

Thanks for all the offers of help and I hope I will not need a single one of them! I will heed the advice (the black spray paint is smart) and, yes, I will have a box of spares (coolant hoses, hose clamps, DOT5 etc.) which I sent ahead. Since I fly down, I am limited in what I can bring. It is...

    Recovery trip - assistance IN-CASE

I am recovering my very first Deuce. I believe that I have things prepared as well as reasonably possible when taking a 35y old truck on a 1200 mile trip. My handicap is: no chase vehicle and no second set of hands. I would like to have, as a last resort, a few fellow SS members I could call...
