I may have to make a trip up to the NYC area this Friday - depending how I work the trip I might be able to stop in on my way back down.

    Nuke trucks?

And you're going to want to talk to a gent on here known as "cranetruck" - he owns one and has restored it completely. The truck, not the missile.

    Nuke trucks?

I think he's referring to the M757-based 8x8 trucks. Some were used as Pershing missile transporters and erectors. The tires are not 6 feet tall, maybe 4 feet, but time messes with people's recollections. Here's a pic of one doing it's duty in Germany...

    1960 Willys to 1940?

Some have made the earlier M38 and CJ-2A/CJ-3A jeeps into WWII-wannabes. But even that is a bit ambitious and expensive. My opinion, wait for a real one, it will be less headache in the long run.

old M116 trailers vs. newer M116s - installing bows where they aren't any

I noticed on the older M116 trailers (the 3/4-ton trailers used with gensets), there are stave pockets on the sides to install the staves and bows to allow a vinyl cover to be placed over the cargo area. I am looking at a M116 trailer, one of the newer types, doesn't seem to have any pockets on...

M116 Military Trailer Build (Expo Style)

Your wife, does she happen to have a younger, unmarried sister? All joking aside, you know how RARE that is in a wife? You are a lucky man.

    Cdl?

Anyone know what the regs are for Virginia? I'd like to snag a M923/925 at the prices they are going for, don't intend to haul a semi trailer or anything except pintle-hitched trailers behind it, don't know what things are like here , especially if I plan on using Vintage/Historic tags like I...

    M162 & M793 Semitrailers

Oh yeah - good catch. Shows what I get for typing "M162 trailer" into Google and trusting what OTHER people have labelled the vehicles as being.

    M162 & M793 Semitrailers

Only other pic I can find of the M162 is attached. I found nothing on the M793.

M715 (not telephone truck) Maintenance Truck

It's a fairly rare bird now, after 45 years of age. The missing parts are out there - if the engine no longer is there I'd recommend an upgrade to a Cummins 4BT or 6BT, either will fit up front, that will solve the underpowered problem with this rig. Make sure it finds a home, the -715 series...

Trip to Coleman's Surplus in Millersburg, PA. Nov. 23, 2013

FYI - Shawn Coleman is in a hurry to clean out his remaining deuces - as trucks OR AS SCRAP. So trust me, he's flexible, and if you need parts I'm sure one of the other ones in back can provide a replacement if you need one.
