going to Coleman's on Tuesday 1/10

Going there with a friend on Tuesday. I'm gonna take pictures, of course. If anyone needs me to look for anything, or pick something up that they have paid for previously, I'd be happy to hold it until you get it from me, or I can bring to Aberdeen or another rally. PM me if you have any...

M151 Found in a Pull your own parts Yard

So.....no pics, and your name is combatcamera? EPIC FAIL. Someone in the neighborhood please go and take some pics, maybe we'll be able to save a good chunk of the parts before it gets melted down into toasters...

Wreckerman and Elmo to Cincy area

Are you STILL playing with stuffed animals? Can't you ask a woman out, like normal men?

    What did I buy?

It's nothing of value. I'll take it off your hands for free, I'll pay shipping though. ;)

m199 converter dolly - any survive?

I know it's a while back, but are there any ways I can get pics of it?

m199 converter dolly - any survive?

I have seen the relatively common M198 and M198A1 converter dollies, used to haul a semi-trailer behind a truck with the pintle hitch. However, David Doyle's book shows a two-axle converter dolly called the M199, uses 14.00x20 tires and rated for 18 tons. Do any of these survive? I've never...

    M37b1

From what I have heard from other car enthusiasts, ALL American steel used in cars changed in 1958. Something happened, different metallurgy from what I was told. Some folks told me that mid-1950s cars are everywhere, but starting in late fifties they are really rusted out. I don't know if...

    WW2 junk yard find/tipper

I might understand no response on the phone, but wow - nobody at the junkyard for 2 years? Must not be that interested in making any money.... Save it if you can, but I'm worried that this will end up being one of those people that will "restore it someday" and won't sell for any price.

    refinishing a PRC-77

I can test a PRC-10, and refinish it. However, the problem is I do not have a battery pack for those older backpack radios, and I don't know anyone who does. Original batteries are long gone, the adapters to use common store-bought batteries to supply the +1.5, -6, +67.5 and +135 VDC voltages...

    refinishing a PRC-77

The paint was Rustoleum brand Forest Green camo, it's about a cross between CARC 383 and USMC Forest Green. It's not as expensive as real CARC, much easier to find at the store, and the paint match is pretty close to issue.

military spring antenna base for 2-meter operation

On Shakespeare's military products webpage, I don't see any mention of the 4255, but they carry the 4265A that uscgmatt mentioned, that falls in the 2-meter range. Like he hinted, though, I'd hate to ask what they want for it.

military spring antenna base for 2-meter operation

The most common mil-type spring bases are the MX-6707 for the VRC-12 series of radios, and the AS-3900 type for the SINCGARS series of radios. They are very rugged, the down side is they are for operation only between 30 and 75 MHz, approximately. What mil-type spring antenna base should I...

    road trip with joediveguy

Went to Leon's Auto Parts south of Culpeper VA on Monday. If any of you know the central VA area, Leon's is a haven for old iron, he has PLENTY of 1950s and 1960s cars in the back, maybe thousands of them. Some are good, some are rust buckets. He has a lot of newer stuff as well, he rarely...

    Deuce noses...

Looks like that's the field mod for the M135/M211 GMC trucks. Same for the M35s, but it's just amazing the info you get for the older MVs in those PS Magazines...

    Deuce noses...

    1. The earlier deuces all had low-mounted lights, but the ones with winches tended to have a reduced field of vision due to the low lights and high bumper. So, over time the factory changed it to the wo/w trucks with lows and w/w highs, then everything had highs. 2. Hood grab handle is a field...

    M38-A1 wanna-be

Also, drill a large circular hole in the right-side body panel right behind the fender to mount the below items including a slave cable adapter (you don't even need to hook it up electrically), you'll fool a LOT of military vehicle enthusiasts as well! Not to mention top bows, machinegun...

    1400 tires on Deuce

I misunderstood the title of the thread, "1400 tires on a deuce." I'm thinking to myself, it would be great to start a tire business with, but carrying 1400 tires in the bed of a deuce might be a little too much, both for the deuce's suspension, and the local police officer's patience.

    M747 destroyed by crooks

I know what I would want to do. Rather than that, instead do this: Get the photographic proof from the convenience store. Get the witness. Get the cops, by all means. Also, if it turns out it was the son using his dad's equipment, you can get the dad to side with you by threatening legal...
