AWESOME! I got my spin on oil filter adapters from John, and they are great! I look forward to primary and secondary adapters, but I'll have to wait for my a$$ to get a job first....
1. Fire Camo - so you can drive it into a burning building and noone will see you. Kinda dumb, camo that's SO BRIGHT you can't ignore it.
2. Night Urban Camo - not sure who came up with this camo scheme, I've seen it forever and it doesn't blend in with anything unless you run over a bunch...
NSN 9341-01-345-3115 Holder, Cup, Tactical, Dual, for installation in M1009 series, 1 ea.
LOL.
I like it! I gotta make something like that up for my deuce so I can drink my bee....uh, I mean SODA! Yeah, Soda....driving down the road! :-D
I second the steering wheel column wire. I had that problem with my first deuce, and it was a PITA to fix it (the wire was a little short, apparently someone had already tried to fix it).
If you can find it, try upgrading to the new design horn setup. I did on my new deuce, and it...
AJMBLAZER - I was joking. The whole thing. Most people would see that as humor, but you missed it. Sorry. :-D
As far as Ford's entry, I don't know for sure if they even tried, however one would think that Ford and/or Dodge would at least have tried to give GM a run for their money during...
Yes, Ford entered into the CUCV contest in 1981-2 before Chevy was awarded the contract. They only produced one example of their version, it did well in the trials but GM's entry had the upper hand. The one example made was sold surplus in the early 1980s to Ted Nugent.
Yes, Jeff, I got your list - will let you all know what I find there.
offroaddiesel - send your list on, I have a LONG list that a bunch of people sent.
And yes, I know how the plastic card thing goes by experience. That's why I said, I need payment ASAP after I pick this stuff up for...
I'm telling ya, the Lord don't want me to go. Friday was wet, Monday schools were closed here due to snow, and today it was 5 degrees outside - WAY too cold to be pickin' parts off of junk trucks in a PA junkyard. Wednesday is same story, below freezing according to the forecast.
SO, first...
I've seen pics of some deuces in Vietnam that showed a 5-ton air cleaner mounted to the deuce fender, pulled off of wrecked M51 series 5-tons in the field. Looked cool, but I didn't think there would be much improvement in the air flow or air cleanliness.
I agree - I bought my old XM1061E1 because I was going to use it with my jeep, which is only 4 feet off the deck. It would be overkill even then. A M1009 would be pretty high, and the deuce will not have a fun time at towing it with the weight - a 5 ton would be better.
Not saying it can't...
Remember, that no matter what you make the stove part out of - it must be BARE STEEL on the inside to begin using it, or you will poison your food. The outside can be any high temp paint - NO CARC!
Neat idea, Daniel! I thought you sold your old smoker/BBQ trailer? I guess you wanted this to make a military-themed BBQ trailer!
I saw a pic of one recently, I think it was on this site in the photo album section. Someone made one out of a pioneer tool kit trailer or a M149 water trailer...
