David, tell your sons not to worry - there will be a dozen or so mechanics in our contingent, who just so happen to have experience working on military vehicles. If it's having power issues, we can figure out why!
Probably worth $1800 is scrap value, with the weight of all the steel in that monster. Would be worth making an offer on, since they are such rare beasts, and lend itself well to a re-engine....
RE: Re: RE: Comm shelving in 1008
Yup, standard VRC-12 series radio rack. Was used for other radio types as well, it's pretty common. There might be someone in here who is interested in that rack/power supply if the price is right.
RE: Re: RE: Does airshift affect speed/power?
No, I wish the reason were that simple. That truck was reading about 63 mph (I know the speedo only goes to 60, but I am estimating the "excess" that the needle was above the 60). Cars were passing me on I-81, but not very fast. All my trucks...
Perhaps a good follow-up question would be: what would cause the differences in power and speed in similar-type deuces, with the same equipment? All of my trucks have had C or D turbos (except for one, which will not be included here), airshift front axles, standard trannies and drivetrain...
I am interested in a radio rack of a certain type - post pics of it and if it is for a GRC-206 radio set, I'll pick that up from you. If it's for the VRC-12 (most CUCVs had the VRC-12 set installed in them), I wouldn't be interested, but perhaps someone else here is.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see a delivery date on the tag of 1951, and it looks to me like this truck was painted tan CARC at the depot. I don't think any trucks were painted tan CARC in large numbers until around the time of Desert Shield in 1990. You think this ancient M41 served until...

Re: RE: M66 Ring Mount is on the M35.
emmado22 had one for sale at the Gilbert PA show last week. Not sure if it sold....
Nice job! I like the look of the deuce with a ring on it, but I fear if I put one on mine that the added height would make offroading in the woods a little more difficult...
RE: Re: RE: Nebraska
I wanna know what the deal is with this Morocco B/S. How big is Morocco's Army? Everyone now has contracts to supply Morocco with our used military trucks and gear. I mean really, their mechanized infantry units use camels. Prime movers are elephants. Morocco shouldn't...
The deuces were replaced by FMTVs, which are less than 15 years old and the worn out ones are getting rebuild. I have seen a few get out, but they were burned, rolled and would take a machine shop a while to make right again. If the surplus system stay as open as it is now, it will be 10 years...
The t-shirts are ordered and paid for, and currently being printed. If you want a t-shirt for the rally, cost is $15 each made in USA, we have Large, XLarge, XXLarge and 3X-Fat. :) Let me know how many you need in a PM and I will mark them for you, and bring to the rally.
