RE: UPDATE
I would think that humidity in the dishwater wouldn't be good for steel tools like that. Might start the formation of rust on bare metal. Let us know how it turns out, and post AFTER pics.
I know sitting in an aluminum bin filled with kerosene does a great job removing grease...
RE: M151 tire size
With 7.50x16, you are adding 1 inch to the overall diameter of the tire. So, figure on 1/2 inch on each side of center. If most of your driving is on pavement or hardpack dirt, no problem, but just keep an eye out for fender rubbing if you flex the suspension at all offroad.
Home and work. When I'm on the road, like in the hotel room during the East Coast Convoy, then too. Generally, if I can have a computer with me, and some form of internet access, I live here.
A3 wheels are where you find them. I've heard they are rare as hen's teeth, maybe rarer. If you have the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ (note: that's more than just $ ), pick those two up, and keep looking for more, I doubt you will find a seller with a full set unless they are already on a truck.
Saw this page in my internet travels. Another M123A1C restored! Looks like Alfa did a really nice job of it, too.

I should have said I plan on ADDING a commercial truck horn, alongside the military one, not swapping them. That way, if I prefer the freight-train-sounding deuce horn, or the big-rig-sounding commercial horn, I can have my choice! :D
Hope you're not parting it out only because of the tie rod. If you are going to part out, I call dibs on the winch bolts, PTO and PTO shifter! :D
How many out there are planning on going to the Red Ball Fall rally in Gilbert, PA, Sep. 19-20? I will be set up on the parking-lot side of the fairgrounds, looking forward to meeting more Steel Soldiers there...
From what I understand, CCKW was NOT an acronym for something, if that is what you are referring to. The "CCKW" was code for what it was, the features it had. Some help here?
