RE: Re: RE: Some New Deuce Owner Questions...
35K and 50K winch, huh? Wow.
You know the deuce only weighs just under 14K pounds, a 20K winch is overkill, even if you are hanging from a cliff by the winch cable. The 10K winch on the front bumper is adequate for 99.9999% of the situations...
I have two trucks with those mirrors. From what I understand, there were three types: these, another similar type but with only one arm and the mirror head is larger, and the West Coast style.
Not at all, you have a great looking truck! Nothing to apologize about!
Thanks for all the help guys, just wanted to straighten it all out. The lights I have are amber one side, unlit OD green the other, and I was getting conflicting information from some folks about how they should face, and...
Anyone see the custom 5-ton truck in the classifieds of the most recent MVM? It was modified into a 10x10, with one front steering axle, a M814 longbed, and 4 rear drive axles, all mounted on what looks like 16.00x20s. Very interesting, I'd be curious to know how well it handles off-road and...
So...I see a pic with two deuces and the amber facing forward, and two Steel Soldiers who say they should face backward.
Is David Doyle in the house? Still confused, need to know the regulation way these should be mounted...
Are the "european" lollipop turn signal lights, that get mounted on the standard deuce turn signals, are they supposed to light FORWARD or BACKWARD. I have seen most mount them with the lens facing forward, but to me it doesn't make sense. There is already a turn signal lens facing forward, to...
RE: rousch creek pa oct 08 event
Glad to hear you're planning on making it with your truck this year, Mike!
I will be going up by myself (not sure if Thursday or Friday mornings), and driving my 1970 M35A2 "Jayne", hopefully I'll have the winch on by then.
RE: Re: Deuce truck pull??
Hmmm...wonder how a 10-ton tractor like a M123 or a M911 would do. Is it possible to pull the entire drag sled even when the concrete block is all the way at the front?
RE: Junk yard has just junk
I was thinking of swinging up there in the deuce when I am at the Gilbert PA show September 19-20. It's only about 12 miles away from the show, so I am going to head up there that Friday, just to take a look.
Not to beat a dead horse, but I thought that one of the stipulations of GL advertising on Steel Soldiers in the upper-left-hand corner of the webpage was that they were going to ACTIVELY PROVIDE a person who would be here on a regular basis, to address problems a bit more than just "looking into...
You're doing great! Makes me wanna look forward to repainting my rig!
Oh, and those tally marks aren't kills. They are the tally for the number of quarts of oil the driver had to add to the crankcase since the last official oil change.
