I literally talked to the owner about two hours before he did this and the "for sale" sign was on the truck. I think he was trying to flip the sale because there are not very many LMTV's in the area but there is a ton of 5tons, get it.
The road is about three feet deep right now but it has a curve that is hard to see unless you are flying over it like we did earlier that day in our T41A.
I believe the truck was fine after he got pulled out. The problem was he drove off the edge of the road that is now covered with water and he couldn't get it out so he went and got help to winch him out.
I was on my boat this weekend and to my surprise I witnessed a LMTV that had gone a little to far into the water. The guy driving was trying to get across to a beach on a road that had been covered by the rising water from the snow melt this year.
All right everyone I'm kind of new to SS and I am trying to get a few votes for my new to me LMTV. I looked back at a few MV's of the month winners and can't find where a "LMTV" has won and I want to be the one to change that. Her is another pic of my 98 LMTV doing what it was made to do, go...
I live in El Paso just about five miles from the largest Army base in the USA, I get to watch these guys play war all day long out in the desert. My M1078 lives at the lake north of us and it does amazing in the soft sand even pulling things like our boat and people that get stuck.
The joke about the boat might be right but I don't ever see myself saying that about my LMTV, I guess I got lucky with my truck or maybe I just enjoy problem solving. So far this thing has been a blast.
Yes, I purchased about three weeks ago and I've been getting all the bugs worked out of it. Had to change some leaking seals in the right front hub and charge the batteries but other than that it runs great. Now I just need to find someone that can sale me some hard to find items I want fixed.
New member here, just wanted to say "Hello" I just recently purchased a LMTV M1078 '98 and I am looking forward to putting it to some good use. I have been reading up on some of the threads here and it appears you guys have a lot of love and knowledge for this stuff.
