I doubt its the oil, my M1008 sat out side a few weeks ago when it was 18 degrees. I cycled the glow plugs one time and it fires right up. As said before check batteries, check battery cables, check starter.
Well i had one go bad on a gas 454 K20 i use to own, I did not have any tools on me and it stuck in the start position. Lets say it did a number on the starter until I was able to disconnect the battery. AC Delco has a listing for new ones, so yeah i am thinking about replacing it.
Just to clarify, I call it a ignition switch some people call it a starter switch. Its mounted on the side of the column and their is a metal rod that pushes it when you turn the key. Thanks...
Thinking about replacing the ignition switch on my M1008 just for good measure, it is kind of old. Are they the same as a K30 civilian pickup??? or is there something special about it??? Thanks Jim.
Im looking at buying the HMMWV 12 bolt rims for my M1008. I see that my 2 options are spacers or recenter the rims. Has any one used the spacers and how did they work out? The recenter rims are a little out of my price range, my truck will be street driven most of the time. Thanks, Jim.
I have been trying to make up my mind on what color to paint my M1008, Desert Tan might be the color. Any pics you all have please post them. Thanks Jim
