I am looking at purchasing a M149A2, however the primary tow vehicle does not have air brakes. Does anyone know of a conversion to electric brakes? Also, would the wheels off of a M1101 fit the M149A2?
MassPilot, What is the height of the channels you used for the subframe ( structure directly on top of truck frame)? Doing some upgrades to our rig and we need to allow enough room for wheel travel under the non-original bed.
Well, ordered the special nuts for the aluminum rims and then loaded everything up and headed to the tire shop for the switch out part duex. Shop manager brought up a very good concern. What about the 10th stud with the air supply for CTIS? It is a larger diameter stud. Needless to say, he...
Ok I went with the nuts. Snow hit which made travel to grab steel rims a bit more difficult with a 500 mile drive. They are Meritor R005995R & R005995L ( John I called the place in the link and they said add the last "5"). Also searched out some threads and came across this..Outer...
I don't speak "tire", however tire place said my studs where too short for my nuts. Yeah that didn't sound good either. So, are you saying there is a nut that would solve this issue?
So, I was all excited the other day and dug out my 4 "new" and mounted tires to replace the 4 rears that my M-108A1 came with... took it to the ONLY tire shop in the area that will work on these and turns out the new wheels are aluminum and thus, too thick and will not fit. The M-1088 came with...
They are telling me this is a new location... In a tow yard. Tow company has a tow rig with a boom and will load it that way for some extra $$$$. With the original post they had it at a site with a forklift...that changed. Anyways, there was some discussion about if a forklift had long...
Have had this happen a few times....with mine it was the brakes sticking to the drums. Can of WD40 sprayed over the pads ( will smoke later) let sit overnight, then pop the edge of shoes with a hammer a couple of times. Once that didn't free them, so I took it out on asphalt put transmission...
Needing to transport a M1082 from Colorado Springs to Southern Oregon....willing to meet anywhere Winnemucca, Northern California, Eastern Oregon Souther Washington if needed....
Do you know of any "electronic" gauge sets that would plug into that port? I have some for my pickups made by Edge. One can display all kinds of parameters from the engine.... Oil/ water temps. EGT and so forth. Yes, I have an A1
Got a M1082A1 and would like to forklift onto a transport. Any warnings or should I overhead load it with a crane? ( I know some gear doesn't like to be forklifted. Also, what is the difference between the M1082 and the "A1" model?
WE have 9 M1101/ M1102's and we had a good fab shop cut the pintle hitch off and lower them 4 or 5"?? I will try to get some photos first part of the week. We tow these with 3/4 and 1 ton Fords and they ride level. I have noticed a few seem to drag, thinking I MUST check the wheel bearings!
There are a couple heavy lift and Wildland fire companies that now own and operate Firehawks ( Blackhawks). Firehawk helicopters out of Idaho is one of them. Also LA County has a couple in use as rescue and fire suppression.
