It looks to me like you storage boxed over the storage for the ladder. How do you pack the ladder w/ you, . . . inside the rear doors, or did you make some place new?

opinions about Deuce 6x6 with HEMTT wheels/395/85R20's

We have Mod'd Hemitts w/ GY 395's, on the She Beast. I like the tires, but I think I would go the MRAP route if I did it again. You don't have to cut the rim to add the plate. I like that thought ;)

Why galvy instead of black pipe? I had heard that you weren't supposed to use galv for gas.

    Riding the Draggin'

I was there to work . . . on MY rig! Besides, I can't seem to get my buddy to quit his job, so I'm bored during the week. also needed something to do between the micro-brews ;)

    Riding the Draggin'

Not long after I got here the weather decided to give me the chance test out some, slightly more, extreme conditions. It snowed, . . . and froze, off and on for a few days . . . , I came here to be warm! So I picked up a $8 terracotta, unglazed, flower pot. It helps, and yes I have...

    Riding the Draggin'

Yes it is, thank you very much for passing it on to me. It sure has made a nice chuck-box for the Hard Top.

    Riding the Draggin'

After pulling the filter it ran great! I headed toward, so called, "civilization" as the day-star moved closer to the horizon. My goal was to get as close to town as possible, and yet still have room to park-up for the night, . . . and do it before dark . . . I don't trust those...

    Riding the Draggin'

A day later I was parked up on the east-side of a small gathering not far east of the Colorado River. On the way here, in the middle of the "120 miles, no service" zone, I passed an officer who had pulled a crotch-rocket over going the other way (he was prob getting a "No Flying" ticket). We...

    M-214?

Very cool! How much have you used it? Are you finding that the wood work is staying together? How did you construct it, screws, bolts?

    M-214?

I think, from everything I've read and heard, it takes way to many to run an AC. Cheaper and easier to run a little genny :-/ Why hooks? Hooks "hook" on things and you live in the woods. Why not loops or rings? You can always use something like a caribiner to hook from rings, or grommets in a...

Look at your avatar, you could put it high to one side of the AC, . . . add some jerry cans on the other side ;)

I'm w/ Welder on this one. We got one very similar, think it might be the next size up (biggest w/o going to a permanent), to use at our base camp. My thought was to be able to take it w/ us when we were mobile. Don't know if we will, just not that important to us for the space it would take...

The trick w/ the camo is to use your local colors. The She Beast has the same MERDC pattern but she has more of the brown and sand, mine has more sand and rust(?) w/ brown being the 3rd color. You could do green / red / brown, I've seen them, or just paint it up desert style and move ;)

    Riding the Draggin'

Thanks, I will. Prob w/ those air mattresses is that I don't like the cheap ones, and can't afford the good ones ;) I did add more blankets, and a couple sheep skins on the pallet B-)

    Riding the Draggin'

Now I needed to make the pump & filter set-up work. I started by pulling the 24v pump off the trailer, along w/ one (of three) filter bases. I figured that I could get by w/ just the one water block filter for this trial. Worst would be that I clog my primary up w/ crud, in fact I was figuring...

    Riding the Draggin'

Tuff needed some alone time to create more beautiful things, and I needed to do some work on "MY" rig. So I'm out here on a solo trip. I've done so much work on the She Beast over the last few years, and then I realized one day . . . I'm a dependent! All the fuel processing set-up was on her...

Separating water from oil without a heat source?

Re: seperating water from oil with out a heat sourse? Are you asking why paint it black ? If so, it's because it absorbs more heat . . . solar gain. And we, or at least me, have a metal tank that I use to separate.

    Portable Bomb Hoist, MK-VI

    Guess that's a "no". Well I have one :)
