It is an all wheel drive off road convertible moving van truck, am I missing something?

I was so hoping that I can shift it while moving, like throw the trans in N than switch Lo then throw the trans in gear again.

Isnt it amazing some people can just grab a tape measure, welder and couple of square tubes and rebuild an entire truck over, I can ask million questions, especially how did you do the dash and all the electronics, what about the guages?

No one probably notice until you actually kill someone with it, (god forbid) but if you speak to LEOs make sure to record names so you can blame them later... I mean refer them incase someone asks...

How did you figure out what ports to use? Or are you just picking random pins to see what data you can get?

I didn't want to discourage you but I think you did the right thing, kids are naturally curious and unless closely mentored they cause nothing but trouble, they will press buttons pull cables turn handles push and pull things, not only that these trucks are heavy, high and got sharp and pointy...
