Any Military Vechicle groups here in West Michigan? Took my CUCV to its 1st car show last year and met one other MV owner who wanted to get a bunch of us local guys together. I could not find any local military vechicle groups so I am starting a MV branch off my local car club.
My car club is sponsoring a auto show at VFW Post in Dorr Michigan 49323 on May 17, 2014.
All profits benifit the wounded Veteran's of the United States. $10 entry fee per vechicle.
As a member of the Early Times Auto Club. I'd like to invite you all to attend. Dash plaques for the 1st 150...
hwcurtice,
If the trailer is too high and not adjustable. Why can you not use an adjustable pintle? Instead of altering the trailer if its not necessary. I use an adjustable pintle for my 2003 Silverado 2500HD.

No problem doghead, I thought I had canceled creating this thread. Thats the reason I never put in a poll..
But these responses sum up that I do not need much insurance on it. Asking myself- Would I want go to a museum to see a trailer? Likely not.. 1st I thought it would be neat to see it in a...
For a Gazzillion dollars I'd sell anything..
But seriously I'd sell for a decent price. I would give it up to add to my child's college fund.
I may have it appraised.
What you Value a one of a kind prototype trailer at?
I just learned that my odd looking aluminum military trailer is a one of a kind experimental trailer that was built for the XM384 at the Detroit Arsenal in 1957.
What would you say its worth? I may look at donateing it to a museum. (In a few...
This is the trailer unit for the XM384 3/4-Ton, 8x8 cargo truck. The truck was designed and built, based on the Ford M151 MUTT (there was also a 1/2-ton 6x6 version, the XM408, of which about four were built and tested). Neither vehicle went into mass production.
There was only one XM384...
Thank you for the info. And your service to our country.
But my question is. Could this have been a prototype that did not go into production?
And here is a vintage photo thats makes me ask this question.
[QUOTE=There was also an experimental aluminum trailer for the mite, the XM585E7. I believe that seven were built and I know at least one survives today. Jim Gilmore has it.
Where can I see a photo of a XM585E7 trailer?
I have a trailer I can not ID. I started a thread in the trailer section...
I was checking the wiring under the hood and it all seemed good, went back to the fuse block, pushed and wiggled the main 12 volt fuses I had installed at the beginning a little harder and I got lights.
I did just replace the fuel pump solenoid and been running fine for two days. While driving noticed the engine struggled to stay running as if it wasn't getting fuel, then shut off. Tried to restart, 1st crank or 2 it fired back up for a moment but shut right back down. Then I found I had no...
I had a piece of 1/2 steel rod ordered to replace the rusted damaged rod that was the hinge for the tailgate. And the aluminum hinge pieces need to be welded back on.
Mounted some different tires and now found that the rims are aluminum.
The right tire cap came off during my 2 hour drive home.
I need to locate two replacement tires and a 3rd rim for a spare.
So 6 screws protruding is M series? Who ever put the 4x4 front end under it did a excellent job in my opinion.
Besides the pintle hitch and M151 front end the entire...
Just towed it home. Tires have (USMC) ( 6PLY NDCC 7.00-16 Truck Type ) (General tire & Rubber CO.) (Military R.S 1951)
The Tail lights have 6 screws--Reflectors have square nut.
Tongue stand is froze up and tail gate is froze up and failing off. Sprayed all with penitrating oil.
#'s on rim...
