Yes I am a PDR guy. Love the work and the changing scenery but now that my kids are getting older it is getting harder and harder to be gone from home!! When I get the house payed off I plan on traveling a lot less. May even do a door dent rout at home. We get hail every year in OK so I could do...
In stuck working here in Chicago for a while. Would be great to get to check out some trucks and meet some of you guys! I am driving my 1009 (Princess). May come up to the car show tomorrow. Have to check on hotels in the area and how far it is. I'm in Rosemont.
Yea I talked to them and they could not give me any performance numbers on theirs. They just kept saying "we did it on a lot of fords and they work great! Should get the same out of a Chevy"
Not really what I was hoping for. Not for 800$ ish!!
Fixed the starter and worked in STL for 2 weeks. Spent the weekend in Troy MO with a friend. Now im in Chicago for a while! On the way I ran in to member rrr and got to see his very cool 5 ton with a moded deuce bed on it! Here are a couple pictures.
Had a good trip to STL and everything went great. Made it to the shop and was going to the room and the starter was grinding! Crawled under and was missing a starter bolt :( oh well could be worse....
Well it is back on the road for me! To St Louis MO this time!! The 1009 has been running great! She got new front brakes and braided stainless steel brake lines after the last trip :) We will see what she gets after this one.
I would like to do this to mine. But have been thinking about having it done commercially. I know it is expensive. But would be as much as 1/4" thick! Just a thought.
The fairlead is just bolted to the bumper and the winch is actually mounted up side down. I looked on their web sight and every thing i found said it was ok as long as it was spooling the correct direction. I also cut out a hole for the controls to plug in. The wiring is also behind the bumper...
I used a 8"x3/8" c channel cut to fit in side the frame. It is bolted to the frame in 6 places. 4 bolts hold the winch on so I figured a little overkill....
I had to take the bumper and the shackle brackets off to get it in there!! Total pita but worth it!! No pics of it apart. Sorry
