I'm guessing that you mean in the beginning? That would be some basic wood filler. There were gaps between the floor planks from 30+ years of drying. I wouldn't recommend it. It's too hard and cracks from all the movement.
It is true that there is about a 300 rpm drop at the same speed, and . . . it also changes the torque and where that 3 - 4 gear gap falls. For "flatlanders" ;) that might not play a big part, for us it is something to think about. Elise often has to shift into 4th pretty soon into a climb or...
you can also keep going from Palmdale to Victorville, on 18, then on to 247 in Lucerne valley (Hundy's home) and down to Yucca valley. All easy roads. From there I-10 can be connected w/ either north of Palm Springs, . . . or by going west on 62 till it meets 177 east of the park.
We use these...
If you are going to skirt around LA on your way to I-10 we are on that route. You can stop here if needed, or if you need more info on the route around I may be able to help some.
We have both, 395's on the She Beast and NDCC's on mine. I can ware my NDCC's out in about 5-6000 miles. They are traction-less on most things that we drive on, where as the She Beast never even starts to sink in sand or slip on the trails/tracks we drive. I use 6x way more often because of...
That's an interesting thought. I was just going to use wood strips, . . . but now you've got me thinking of alt's
On mine the corners have a line of rivets that make doing both sides of the corner almost impossible.
You should prob start a new thread about your trailer, then we could go on...
Did paint it. That's all in the build thread that I linked to.
Haven't done anything new since then. Still putting most of my work in the She Beast, though I did get a few things for the Draggin' and will need to work on them before departing again this winter. ;)
I've got one of those. The method of lifting is w/ a jack in the center (I'll dig up some photos). Because there are no guides in the corners, or anywhere, when it gets lifted it kinda tips (like you would expect lifting something at only one point in the middle).
I'm going to change mine to a...
So there's no using it w/ the tailgate down? If you're sleeping in it you'll have to have the tailgate up, and then be able to put it down before you can get out?
I think I'm confused.
On the She Beast we are running 45 front and 35 rear, that's on a 109 that has more weight on the rear. Started at 75 and kept dropping it till the tires rode flat on pavement. Also helped w/ it wanting to change direction every time she hit a bump. Have only dropped it 5lbs to offroad, and that...
Thanks, so does that make it an "early whistler"?
I sold it as a whistler based on what we listened to for a year and now I may have to reimburse the buyer. Does it have a dif value? is it something special, or rare? . . . or maybe not wanted at all?
Could use some help here :-/
Seems like the "C" turbo we sold has a dif part # than what is suppose to be on it.
I'm told that the "C" has the part #3LJ-319, and ours is #3LD-305. I'm not looking to sell this guy something that's not what I said it was.
Does anyone know these part #'s, or where...
My post was about the 395s being harder than the 9.00x20s to control doing something other than driving down the pavement. We have both and I, at times, drive them both. There is a dif.
Saw Mdmorgan's avatar and thought I would ask if they were using power assist, . . . my bad. I'll shut up now!
I'm really liking how yours is looking! Not sticking out in the front. The She Beast has that wider stance of the Hemmits (which is great for that truck, she never sinks or slips anywhere we've gone) and I'm really debating going w/ 11x20s (just don't like any of the rim choices), or doing what...
Not to jump tracks . . . but, what are you using as steering on her rig? We've been running 395s on Mod'd Hemmits on the She Beast and I'm really thinking I need to upgrade to some kind of power assist for Elise. Some of the places we've been have def caused . . . lets say . . . a work out.
Not...
I'm loving the "New Posts" link, that's great!
I used to just hang out in a couple subforums because the Main Page was just too busy for me.
Thanks, for all of this!
