    M931 as a farm semi?

Use the handy "search" function on the forum for the 915A1 and enjoy the reading! I bought two of them a year ago and they worked great on the farm with DMF 40' hoppers and a M872 flatbed for water tanks. They top out at about 62mph so they get out of a field really well. They are the...

Hauling grain with the 915A1 tractors

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Cornrichard, I am glad you are still having fun doing "real work" with yours too. I had read your earlier posts and those of others before I spent the money. It was nice to have the information on here about them. There is a family near me using them...

Hauling grain with the 915A1 tractors

I jumped in the deep end this year and bought my first pair of semi trucks and had fun using them at harvest this year. I'm pulling 36 foot DMF trailers and haul about 1,000 bushels of corn. I had pretty good luck and had one PS hose come off and a sticky fuel shut off magnet. My buddies that...

M931A2 Trucks just sold in IA

I didn't have time to look at or bid on these good looking rigs. Did any of you check them out or buy some of them? I figured I better get corn harvest done first.......

    915A1 now has new steps!

They didn't short your truck on them, did they? I'm pulling a 36' DMF hopper, what are you using behind yours?

    915A1 now has new steps!

That two foot gap was getting to me so I made some "better" ones for harvest season on the farm.

    Hauling TANKS!!!

I tease with the best of spirit. My relative that has used these things in the sandbox tells me how they always put two 49,000 lb.real TANKS on one of these trailers and put the hammer down and never broke one so they should handle my loads fine! My front tank is 3,000 gallons and the rear...

Looking at a M923A1 for the farm. Automatic?

Yes it will, if it is the older cable operated Allison!!!! I have several large straight trucks on the farm with Allison trannys and they are a joy to use. Easy to get rolling in mud or a tight spot. Just ease into the throttle and away it goes. I just bought a pair of M915A1 semis and...

    Hauling TANKS!!!

Here are some photos! I even made removable safety rails, don't want to take a header off of that tall trailer......

    Hauling TANKS!!!

Well farm tanks....... I have put my new toys (915A1 and M872) to work on the farm and they are really working out nicely. I have my CDL too so I'm legal. Had to buy a trailer for retail but may have to get another sometime on a cheap auction. Time costs money and I needed it sooner for work...

M872 Trailers----What do they sell for?

I am looking for a flatbed trailer for the farm and have been seeing the M872 with 3 rear axles here and there. I do not see any for sale on the GL site but do see some in KS in the background of other photos so I am hoping they may be coming up for sale. What is the range of prices that...

    New trucks made it home!

I think there were plenty of bidders that day but the trucks all ended up pretty close in price. Hope you got some of the 22 trucks bought too.

    New trucks made it home!

I have read some of their posts for research and know someone who has seen their trucks around.....They said "Those trucks are TOO COOL!" There are some junk iron haulers near me that run these trucks so I am not the first in the community but I will be the first one to use them to pull grain...

    New trucks made it home!

I need a CDL to use it on the farm. If I go more than 150 miles from home or into another state then I need log books and such. I am still learning it all.

    New trucks made it home!

They were "rebuilt" in 2005 and 2006 and got new motors then. I will have to double check as I am just going on the sale descriptions for now.

    New trucks made it home!

It was $1.575/mile for total miles. There was no backhaul so it all figured in the total. They did it in a hurry (and did a very fine job) when my other firm kept putting me off again and again. It wasn't too many miles so it will only be about $400 more than if I had two drivers and tried...

    New trucks made it home!

1984 M915A1 with a 400hp Big Cam III Cummins and an Allison 754 automatic transmission. They are stamped 50,000# GVW.
