The shift gate is cheap and retightening the set screws made a huge difference because they were all loose. Whoever did it last time didnt understand how the safety wire is supposed to hold the screw from loosening. Now i can feel the gears and it clicks into and out of gears very definitely...
Heres a pic of me at 2am trying to figure out why i got stuck in 5th gear. Ive since replaced the worn out sliding shift gate and tightened/safety wired the set screws. Also replaced all the syncros while i had it apart.
