Which would make a better bobbed rig?

Which truck would make a better bobbed rig, assuming moderate off road driving plus 60 mph highway driving? We live at 7500 ft. elevation, so there would be a lot of up and down canyon driving in the snow. Thanks. 1. 2001 939 5 ton Cummins NTC engine 250 Alison trans super singles...

    GL wants my Deuce back

The Byrd thing is a good idea. A phone call from Byrd's staff may make GL decide they do not want the truck back.

Which is the most trouble free engine?

I am looking at getting a deuce or a 5 ton, and would like any feedback you can offer on the most trouble free engine - multifuel, CAT or Cummins or other? Are any engines problematic and should be avoided? Thanks!!

    GL wants my Deuce back

Maybe you could bob it and thus discourage GL from actually wanting it back?

The bottom line: nobody makes hubs for a 5 ton??

Does anyone make lockout hubs for 5 tons? If the answer is no, that might be the deciding factor in convincing me to plan for a deuce rather than a 5 ton.

Width difference between deuce and 5 ton?

Can anyone tell me the difference in width between an M35A2 and an 813 or 818 5 ton? Thanks!

I wonder why they pulled all the m35a2s

With the budget problems we have, I doubt any bureaucrat could justify scrapping something that could be sold for cold hard cash, even if it is only 1500 bucks.

new, deuce one piece 22.5" rims??

No offense, but OTR tires look wimpy. However, I suspect that 99% of deuce driving is on highways.

Anybody mount a snow plow on their deuce?

In Evanston, Wyoming right next to route I-80 they have several deuces with plows on them. They belong to the state highway department, and I think they only use them during extreme conditions where the regular snow plows prove insufficient. It seems to me that a 5 ton (818?) would be...

When was the signle reservoir master cylinder for deuces phased out in favor of the more modern / safer variety?

    U.S.S. Kitty Hawk FS

I heard that the DOD wants to give the carrier to India for free, but India would have to buy the planes, parts, radar, training, etc. The idea is to prop India up a bit to be a counterbalance to China.

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Wow, that is a big project. Whoever let that truck get into such a state should be whipped with a length of rusty rebar.

M35A2 - FLIPPING REAR HUBS TO SINGLE OUT A DEUCE.

May I ask why you went back to duals? Fuel economy? Tire clearance? Drive train wear? Found free tires somewhere? Just wondering. Regards.

Does anyone have pics of how to flip the rear hubs on a deuce?

Fantastic info, and it appears to be quite easy. Thanks again!

What have M-817 dump trucks been selling for ?

Barstow? I wonder how much fuel it would take to get one up to Salt Lake City.
