I got an email from the Ace Cafe on Livingston Street, just 2 blocks from the Parade route. They asked if we could bring some Military Vehicles to their place for a salute to Veterans event right after the parade. They will give us a special place to park. They have great food too. Here is their...
Looks like there will be several TV stations, radio stations and magazines present at this years show. Bring your MV because this event is going to be HUGE!
February 22-26 2017 at Renningers Flea Market in Mount Dora. There will be a few TANKS this year in addition to many other Military vehicles. There will be a WWII battle re-enactment, weapons demonstration and a huge swap meet. Bring your MV to the show. For more information go to...
Thanks for all the info. I am trying to put together some facts about the FAV and this info really helps. I didn't know that photo was taken in Korea. I have been in contact with several people from 9ID at Fort Lewis and they are getting some historical documents together for me. Wish I could...
Just getting started on mine. I just finished putting the engine and transaxle in. Working on steering and brakes next. I started a website of the build but only have 1 photo og my FAV on it. I will update soon. This one is serial #90 out of 120. www.fastattackvehicle.com
I saw the HUMVEE seats on ebay and the seller was in Sanford so I went to look at them. You can walk all over this scrap yard and they don't follow you or hound you. I was there over an hour and bought a bunch of military surplus. A very cool place to hunt for treasures.
More versions
Here are few more configurations. Don't know if I would want to be on the multiple rocket launcher version. They also came up with the first attack vehicle that was 100% remote/radio controlled. The operator wore goggles that look like todays VR headset. He could drive the vehicle...
They went thru 3 years of testing as a Surrogate for the HTLD program from 1982-1985 at Fort Washington. During that time the Army put every kind of weapon thru tests to see what was the best. They finally decided on the TOW but needed a 3-man crew to support it. They modified the FAV into a 3...
I have talked to a couple other Veterans who were there too. The one's who lived in the south west didn't think much about them because they grew up around sand rails flying over dunes. It must have been a sight in Washington State! I will post more photos as I work on it. I think it is going...
My new project. A 1982 Chenowth Fast Attack Vehicle. Bought it as a basket case from a museum up north. It is the real thing from Fort Lewis Washington. Several parts missing and just getting started on it. Need a 50 cal for the top! Hope to have it ready for next rally.
