There is fuel in the fuel filter. When I'm cranking the engine, there is no white smoke coming out of tail pipe (at least none from what I can see). I can smell fuel. Before changing fuel filter, when I took off filter it was full of fuel. At this point in time, I do not have a voltmeter...
I cannot get to it today, but for sure I will do it tomorrow. Thanks Barrman for your comment. Much appreciated. Kinda woke up my brain. I will disconnect pink wire and crank engine at 6 sec. interval's as to not over heat starter. The whole time I was driving cucv's on active army duty...
I have not been able to start my 1009 since this past October. Prior to that, I was getting ready to attend a static display at a VFW hall. I had the 1009 running all the week before that Saturday. I got in the truck that Saturday morning. I did all the usual pre-checks before cranking...
I cannot get my M1009 to start. The batteries are fully charged. I have replaced the "glow plug card", glow plug distributer located on fire wall, and the fuel filter (which does fill with fuel).
I let the plug cycle three times and crank the engine for about five seconds as to not over heat...
Thank you everyone for your imput on tire, lug, and rim size. I went to a lower profile tire from Firestone that also had the same weight
/load rating as the tires that come with the trailer. Made a world of difference in in pulling trailer as the trailer sits at same level as the Blazer. No...
I'm the one that had a fuel problem (fuel filter needed prime/bleed), not an electrical problem. I was asked a question and I gave the guy an answer. No harm in that. I never heard of Thread hijacking. Now I know.

If you converted 24 volts to 12 volts, then why are you still using both batteries? That may be your problem. How many alternators? One or Two? You may have a short in the wiring.
Fuel filter was new this past September. Clamps were replaced when filter was changed. Changed hoses same time. Thank you for the good advise. My fault for the filter losing prime because the truck sat for almost a full month without starting it. A couple days of warm weather and now it's...
Good news. I had time to get under the hood today. Disconnected pink wire from the IP, unscrewed bleeder a quarter turn, removed fuel cap. Placed a small container under bleeder line and cranked engine at short intervals three times. Fuel in container. Closed bleeder cap, tightened fuel...
Hey rodent, I was always told that no question is dumb. So here goes....Once I unscrew the bleed screw, will I need to crank the engine for the fuel to come out the tube ? How long should I let the fuel run out the tube before I shut off the bleeder? I was supposed to have some help today...
I was looking under the hood today and did not see any pink wire's. Bleed screw is on the left top of fuel filter (looking from the front of the truck)? How far do I open bleed screw?
I was not having any problems starting my Blazer this winter at least once a week or every other week I would start the truck and let it run for awhile and maybe take it out for a short drive.. Fired right up, no problems. This week it decides to crank but not start. I was looking under the...
What is IP? I'm sure the GP's are working. There is no smoke. Truck fired up last month and it was much colder. Batteries are fully charged and the starter cranks like it should. I need to get someone over so they can bleed the fuel filter while I crank or I'll bleed the filter while they...
I had my batteries disconnected from my M1009 and a 24 volt charger set on trickle charge for almost a month. Today I connected the batteries to my M1009 in contemplation of starting the truck. I turned the ignition switch on and let the glow plugs cycle two times before starting. Engine...
Thank you again. Yes, you are correct. The picture says everything. I can only reflect back to when I was an active duty MP and was stationed at Campbell Barracks, Heidelberg, Germany. Our Company had to turn in all of our M151A2's along with the M416 trailers. In exchange we received...
Thank you for braving the cold and hooking up your trailer to your M1009. That's is exactly what I want to achieve. I see you went to the lower profile tire: LT245/75R16. This is what I will look for. Is your trailer equipped with the surge brake on the tongue. Hard to tell. That in its...
