Because a so called expert told me that the specs of power steering fluids are far greater than any ATF. My fault for going against what my gut told me. So should I be flushing the system and adding dex V1 ATF ?
The first pump I removed was the earlier 107 bar version and it whined even worse than this new one. Do you think that there is any benefit in changing from the power steering fluid that I am using to the Dex V1ATF which I believe is thinner . If I have to put up with a whine I want to get it...
Haven`t run it long with the new pump...maybe 5 miles. Just ran the part number on the new steering pump I installed and it is the latest pump for the 6.5 TD. (120bar) The pump that should be fitted is the older version rated at 107 bar which is for 6.5 NA with 4L80E. Is it possible that the...
OK... fitted a new 6.5 N/A and 4L80E. Everything is fine except a whine noise coming from the Power steering system( new style with remote reservior) System is bled correctly with no leaks, air or foaming issues. I put it down to power steering pump. Fitted new pump and whine is still there...

I mounted an old nightsight 2000 thermal system with full 360 degree joystick operation. A bit bulky but works a treat. It`s mounted on the rh side of the roof and on the lh side I have a remote operated search light plus a bracket for the GPS antenna.
I fitted mine into the base of a standard antenna mount. Just a bit of creative metalwork to the bracket and job done. Thought I would need it to make reversing a bit easier but have never turned it on...lol
You could go down the road of drilling your old spindles out but why would you bother when at the moment on ebay you can pick up a nos ctis spindle for less than 50 bucks each. Cost you more than that to mess about with the old ones. Then just get 4 new steering arm covers and the hub part of...
No, there is no 12v convertor inside the box. The two main leads going into the box are marked 24v input and 12v input. It is designed for use with the Hmmwv dual amp Alternator. Hope this helps.
