Lacoda56, Thanks for the advice I can always use plenty of it. I agree with you on the compressor, it probably will be more cost efective to find some one to do it because that compressor will be too costly for me to get with the other stuff
I want to do some sand blasting on certin parts on by Deuce and I cant find anyone in my area to do it. Are those small pressureized blasters worth getting? I've seen some for around $100.00 with 20 and 30 gal tanks on wheels, does anyone have any experiance with these small blasters? I know...
Desert Rat, That looks good If I wanted to do mine like that what sould I ask for at NAPA Store, (part #)
Also what size is the original exaust pipe, 3" or 3½" ?
I ordered two gallons of that Red Primer, one gal. 383 green and one gal. OD semi gloss this past Tuesday from Rapco Parts, hope it gets here Monday. They said they have been working hard to get the Web Site going but nothing yet.
I've used the high pressure car washer to clean all my canvas items, and it does a good job for me. Just use good sense and dont hold the tip of the pressure washer too close and damage the material. Does good on old field gear like pistol belts and such. If you have a real grimey piece you can...
I was checking all my fluids under the Deuce today but I found I didnt have a tool to loosen the plug on the Transmission and Transfer Case. My Differentals had 1/2" square plugs, what size are the others? 3/4" was too big, does it take a 5/8" or 11/16" ? I use to have a small piece of square...
I'm kind of confused about the GL-1 also, Where can I purchase GL-1? Do the regular lube oil distributors sell GL-1 or is that just a military item? Some oil company had to make it for the Military, Right ?
Thanks for the information guys, I've already spent $125.00 on seal-beams since I had the truck. I think I'm going to try that conversion, AND check that iddle RPM too. [:)]
Opie, Forgot to mention I use a cheap one I had in my bass boat. I got it from Wal-Mart and its Red. they dont cost that much if you just want one without being official military, I going to paint mine 383 Green just to see what it looks like.
Man i'm getting tire of replacing head lights, and the are not cheap either. :banghead: Is there a better brand light out there that I can get? I had to change 3 headlights in one year, not counting the two I replaced the first day I got the deuce. It has to be the vibration I guess, and I been...
I use a small 2 step folding step ladder, its about 3' tall. I keep it in the truck always for that climbing stuff. My boot slipped off the tailgate step and french kissed the ground a while back so I use a that step ladder.
Thats a good tip about that grab handle, I was going to thread a...

It was a tough decision for me to choose, I almost went with the semi gloss OD also. I have to stop for now because I want to get the back of the bed sand blasted real good, I'm looseing the rust battle back there. I havent been able to get those spots killed, just keeps coming...
Had to paint the hood from where the old paint was bleached out and just doing a general touch up. I have a good shop but the dang truck is a tad too big to fit in.
This a new place to me and looks like they have some good prices on used wheels $25.00 each. What are the problem with them if you dont mind saying, I guess we need to know this kind of stuff. You can PM me if you like.
