OK, it sleeted on us Monday, so we decidwed it was time to turn the Air Conditioning off in the deuce by sealing the 10,000 leaks in cab.
The windshields have an open spot at the top corners where the seals don't meet, and I really don't want to replace them untill we repaint next spring, plus...
Diesel only means the fuel density compensator has been bypassed....if it's that ebay truck you are determined to buy  , I see the big sticker on one of the oil filters from where the DoD bypassed it. No problem there, as gasoline really isn't the best fuel for the hypercycle engines...
That truck has been on ebay a couple times w/ no takers.....and while it has new paint, I'd be REAL cautious about ithe truck....
The mileage/hours are pretty meaningless on these trucks...the dash clusters are swapped out all the time, and usually when another powerpack (engine, radiator and...
My friend's pump is FUBAR.....the hydraulic head is rusted inside and the drive gear sheared off.....and to top it off it leaked anyway, so a rebuild is outta the question on this unit.
When my pump went south I was quoted $350 or more to rebuild it...and I bet more would have been likely as...
Welcome to the board, Kelly.
First off, I never give a rat's azz about what my friends may think of any of my purchases, so my advice is to do the same....works for me. I really don't want all my buddies driving deuces anyway...kinda takes away from the indivduality of it.
DOn't know of any FL...
No idea what the laws are in Colorado, but one of the CO MV clubs should know.
Motor Vehicle laws vary so wildly from state to state there is no way to hazzard a guess.
The plate agencies (in Ohio it's the BMV) are normally filled with idiots that have no freaking clue about anything.
I have seen some pics of your military vehicles and some of them have the Ohio Historical Vehicle tag displayed....Fred for one.
Why do you guys do this?
The Ohio Revised code allows historic military vehicles that are so tagged to have the registration number painted on to the front and back...
The 3 wire leads on the back are the problem....24v headlights are easy to find, but only that # has the leads. Instead of screwing around w/ soldering leads to one I came to my senses and just ordered what I needed from Saturn.
A good friend of mine....who is kinda a Luddite..
(google up Luddite if you need to  )
needs an injection pump (complete) for his deuce....LDT 465 1-D.... anyone have a spare laying around?
$$$????
I'll be glad to help anyway I can.....if nothing else, have a good running deuce and a tow chain!
If you run into trouble elsewhere I can always post an SOS call for you on the site here so some local members can help.
