    LMTV Smoke Test

2002 1078A1 Had CTIS issue - replaced pressure switch & CTIS module. while diagnosing that problem, I had 2 used modules and one new one, along with an old and new pressure switch. In trying to eliminate faulty part(s) I tried various combinations of old parts, new & old parts, and just new...

    LMTV Abs troubleshooting

Can't help or advise on the OP, but have a question. Have a 2002 1078A1 with the ABS indicator on. Had other issues as well. Fixed those, but still have this ABS issue. Don't have any diagnostic tools, but may see if the local Army Reserve guys will help in that respect. In the meantime, I...

    Are all good trucks gone?

More is better. UPDATE: Don't where you're looking, but there are only 5 listed on GSAXcess in Texas as of this morning.

    Are all good trucks gone?

When reviewing GSAXess earlier this week, there were over 100 HMMWVs listed in Texas alone. Two days later there were less than 20. Likely some government agency sucked them up, which would be strange since there are 1000s sitting at Red River Depot. We get our trucks through the Texas...

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

Glow plugs are getting voltage. On to checking fuel flow, cold start and fuel shutoff when I get a chance.

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

Glow plug voltage is ok, but I may check all of them again. Wait light acts normally. Typically, I would agree with you regarding the cold start circuit. I think I might go back and check some wiring connections to be sure a couple haven't been switched in all the commotion.

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

I don't have the level of authorization to post classifieds. Buying one of our HMMWVs can not be considered a donation in the eyes of the IRS, but the money does go to a good cause.

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

The whole process hasn't been too bad. It's just that when I was about to button everything up and move the truck to the compound, the starter flaked out on me and fried the PCB, which created other issues as well. Actually, with our surplus source for parts, we've got maybe $300-$400 in it. We...

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

UPDATE: This truck has been a pain in the butt. A lot of work has gone into it to get it ready to sell - New Protective Control Box, New Glow Plugs, New Auxiliary Ground Strap, New Starter, New Power Steering Pump, New Fuel Pump, New Fuel Injection Pump, New Windshield Washer Pump, New...

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

Charged them, but may change them out. Easier to do that than haul that heavy beast of a generator out of the engine bay.

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

Ever heard of SSI Technology PCBs? Also, ever heard of KDS white label CR-2700?

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

    Waited minutes without any luck

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

New update on HMMWV #2 - It's running, but the voltmeter stays in the yellow. Tested another GPC (just plugged it in while it laid on top of the engine - and, yes, I disconnected the batteries), but that wasn't the issue. Voltmeter still in the yellow. Connected multimeter to batteries while...

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

Repeat of above edit…… UPDATE: HMMWV #2 is running again. Four glow plugs were very swollen. Check everything and connected the batteries. Wait light stayed on 15-20 seconds. Was cold and took a bit to get started. Fired it up and let it set about 3 or 4 minutes. Voltmeter never came out...

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

So, speaking of PCBs, has anyone designed a reliable substitute? I was reading an old thread where someone was about to go "live" with their design. Did that ever happen?

    Rebuilding HMMWV Generators

I checked dimensions as you suggested, and when I installed the pulley, everything got sucked up tight.

    Rebuilding HMMWV Generators

No. Wanted to make sure it would spin without issue before I completed the repairs (ie. installing pulley and soldering wires).

    Electric Priming Pump on MEP-804A

Thanks. I have the TMs and have scanned them. Haven't had time to focus on the new generators yet.

    Electric Priming Pump on MEP-804A

Found the manual pump. The issue I'm having is that I don't hear an electric pump running when I turn the switch to the prime/run position. This is the 1st of 3 15Kw units that we've recently purchased. Haven't done much so far, just tinkering. It cranks, but doesn't start. Haven't had time...

    Rebuilding HMMWV Generators

I'm currently replacing the front end on one generator (broken attachment ear) and rebuilding another (attachment ears broken on both ends and replacing the rotor, as well as bearings, seals, etc.). On the one I'm rebuilding, I have it assembled, but the rotor is too far back and the aft vanes...
