Just send a bag of Gold dust to the Site owner, so you can keep getting MV Porn!
BTW, What is Chris' current project? The other threads kept me out of my wife's hair for hours. She really liked that!
If there ever was a right place ... you found it! I'm glad that you're safe at home. Now is the time to download the Technical Manual for your truck and read it until your eyes spin. I think that our reference library is back on line, otherwise go to jtonka.com . I'm sure that others will...
Update on guns.
The answer is NONE!
Not in the Obama state of Canada!
I`ve been carrying one up here for the last 25 years (on duty) and the regs have gotten so stupid, even for us, that it is too expensive for even Bill Gates to ensure his own personal security.
Have them drop...
The MTVE was an engineering specific variant which we saw in the late "90's " I had seen them with just the blade before that, but the new beastie was more than that. All sorts of cool toys.
Being Recce, I never got to play with this one!
Adapt, Overcome, and Survive.
That looks like a really skookum portable scaffolding setup. Unless Gimpy is involved in the project, that one won't turn turtle.
Keep us posted with pics of the new MV Hotel!
I like the looks of it, but for the benefit of us un-educated folks,
could someone post a pic of what this might have been,
and could once again look like?
I'm learning as quick as I can,
but my transfer case is sometimes in LOW Range!
Just fix it. That thing is way better than some of the projects that I've seen.
This isn't Barrett Jackson, where all of the numbers have to match!
Our crew like things that are original as possible, but unless you have a contract from a musem....
Put it back together, run it and have fun!
24 V is such a superior system for heavy loads... starting would be the primary concern. It takes a while to kill 2 huge batteries, no matter how stubborn your truck is!
When buying batteries, I have found a very usefull shopping tool.
All major cities have distrubutors for commercial truck...
I just got the heads up that a Prarie Chicken is winging his way to the coast! He'll soon be leaving Kelowna, and should arrive here just in time for some good weather. It will be nice to talk to anither M135 addict, and just maybe we'll warm up the old green machine. After being used to Super...
It's nice to see that after the roadtrip, Elmo is to tired to chase chickens.
It looked like a good trip,
and I'm glad that you had the time and skills to accomplish this mission.
Yup, What he said is right. Take your time and work from the farthest cyl and keep working inwards. A power bleeder (Search on this site ... ) will make this a relatively easy and quick job.
I don't have to tell you that you do good work .... you already know that.
Thanks so much for providing us with the MV porn that we hunger for.
I am sure that once this beastie is ready,
you will post tons more pics, of it running and having fun.
The truck that he drove was likely the M135, which is almost like the M211. The only difference would be our trucks had singled out wheels, and fender wells in the bed (better for carrying troops, worse for cargo). Tranny was a 4 spd automatic (Hydra-matic) coupled to a 302 GMC Gaspot. Sprag...
As far as I know, we didn't use them in any number. It's possible that JTF2 bought a couple of special orders, but they always had the cool toys. The video was shot in London Ontario, so it stands to figure that the cast-offs from CFB London would show up locally.
The video is at this thread.

As for still pics, I have to go through 300 shots and resize them. I'll get that done this weekend, as I nurse a Canada sized hangover.
We threw on one heck of a party, and I...
The truck has just been released from the shop. the detailing and PM's have been done, thanks to friends and sponsors, we are ready to celebrate our country's birthday! I have a small motorpool who will be at an honored position in the parade (right up front... just behind the color party!)...
