    the "shed of dreams"

The link says they're jeeps from Greece. As another poster says, they're in northren Europe somewhere. They have sold some. Before Sarafans moved south they imported some M-38's from Greece. They were pretty rough though all needing restoration.

GL sticks it to the small guys BIG TIME!

Can you imagine the logistics of getting them off base as previously mentioned. The best trailer can only handle two to three trucks at the most. Probably have to provide something to use for loading that can't leak fluids while it sits and then look at trucks that are parts trucks only (if...

GL sticks it to the small guys BIG TIME!

Re: RE: GL sticks it to the small guys BIG TIME! Plus they have to pay the sales tax, an added expense and more paperwork.

GL sticks it to the small guys BIG TIME!

I've heard of Jeeps being taken off one ship, (government returning) only to be loaded onto another ship at the same docks bound for some country by dealers as "go-betweens". Don't know how true it is or is it an old wives tale.

5 ton dumper I rescued from scrapper

Well, if you think about it, these trucks are not suited for the everyday homeowner. "Honey", says the wife, "I'm gonna take the 5-ton down to the market for a gallon of milk". "Okay sweetheart, don't forget to pick up some WD-40 for the shop".

    MV meetings in Europe!

Great pics and I really want to thank you for sharing with us but is that the American flag in the pic or is it Belgiums flag? Either way, why is it in the trees? Why are you saluting it? Enjoyed the M151 pics because thats what I drove in the military.

    Probably worth more ---

    m151 import

I would bid very cautiously with missing paperwork. Also no front pumpkin which means the front shafts would be missing or a completely different front end. The front grill looks "odd". It looks "rounded" (or optical illusion).

    New M1008

Anyway to cover the glass?? EZ to see from a enemy pilots point of view. Same problem with the new 2 1/2 ton truck -- lots of windshield glass !!

    Military "Cattle-Cars"

Brings back memories of Ft. Leonard Wood Basic Training in 1981 also. I remember some high-strung 1rst Louie training brigade commander during orientation fast pacing back and forth on the stage telling us that "We're not like the rest of the training brigades, we don't ride -- we march or run...

Nearing end of CUCV GL availability?

Just look at the WWII jeeps that are in private hands that are showing up for sale. Although alot of people are saying that they can't be found these days.

Nearing end of CUCV GL availability?

I've noticed that there's alot of "residue" vehicles showing up now.

    Auctions in Guam and Hawaii.

It is really surprisingly cheap if you ship "Roll on-Roll off" however your vehicle most undoubtably will suffer some kind of damage. The dockworkers don't know how to start a WWII vehicle so out comes the forklift to push. This evens happens to commercial vehicles.

    Auctions in Guam and Hawaii.

It's really cheap to have vehicles shipped from Europe over here possibly because the ship makes several port of calls on the way.

Gilbert PA rally, September 19-20 2008

Whom got the best of show trophy? It would be a toss-up between the greatly restored 1/2 ton Command Car or the ultra-rare FWD truck. Surprisingly for as large as a show that is, they never get any living history displays there.
