I think you would more than likely find someone with a regular CUCV body that would be willing wo trade you. Heck if I was closer I would not only trade you I would do all the work! This way you don't have to find a donor and do all that cutting and welding, etc.
I did a search for this and didn't find the answer to my question.
I am in the process of purchasing a 1986 Chevrolet K20 4WD Suburban. It has a bench seat and a non-tilt steering column that I would like to replace. I am making a CUCV clone by the way.
Anyhow I found a guy here in...
Thanks Recovery I will try that out tonight.
Yes they did and I feel bad now because I forgot to let you know. I work full time and I'm getting my masters and as it's finals time my brain is very fried. I haven't had time to look at them yet and I need to find a schematic so I can make sure...
Yeah my truck shakes like a leaf on a tree when at idle. I didn't realize this was probably due to a low idle. Also it makes sense what you are saying about the solenoid coming on in the morning. I had not thought about that.
How do I bump up the idle?
I guess I was hoping it wouldn't be that. Optimas ain't cheap and I would like to keep those in the truck. However I will take them out and get them checked.
OK ever since I bought my truck I have had problems with the Gen 2 light coming on when the truck goes to idle. As soon as I hit the accelerator I the light goes off. I replaced the belts with Gates belts and they are all tight. I also had the passenger side alternator rebuilt. But still the...
I think more may be coming. I have a buddy of mine that works for the Army Corps of Engineers who said they were supposed to get five CUCVs. However about 2 weeks before they were supposed to get them they were told to just purchase new trucks instead. I guess it's that stimulus money.
All,
I am going to take one to a printed circuit board shop that my company does business with tomorrow to see if they can copy the design. If they can and it's affordable I'll let everyone know.
CARNAC,
I think that was me and honestly I haven't tried it yet as I got the new one from...
Ok I know some guys were following this a little bit. To start I’ll re-cap what all I have done.
-I pulled the dash and repainted it with some Du-Pont vinyl paint. I did use an adhesion promoter before spraying the dash. I also repainted the rectangular vents and fixed the black dash...
Those things looked pretty good of course they may take pictures from the very best angles. The prices were a tad high but they probably have some wiggle room in there.
Another way is is they were missing the bolts and tried to tow the truck with a strap or else just pull it out from being stuck in mud. Especially if they used a larger truck like a deuce and a half to do so. Since the point to hook the strap to is higher it could pull it up and out. Heck if...
I should add that I submitted an EUC for a gen set on the 17th of last month and they haven't even changed my status yet on the sight to show that they got it. They move like mud on those things.
