    Mystery Plug

Thanks for the tip. I called him and he had 14 in stock so I went ahead and ordered one. Cost me around $240! I might try and wire in a switch this weekend just for back-up purposes though. How often do these things go out? Hopefully not often as it seems they are no longer made!

What size wire should I use? Can I ground it anywhere or do I need to ground it to the batteries? I assume I just hit the switch then start the truck and then turn the switch off?

    Mystery Plug

I have this plug that is just hanging on my new (to me) M1009. I noticed it when I was searching through the inside last night. It's directly below the steering wheel and is hanging by wires from underneath the dash. It's black and about 4" wide by 1"-1-1/4" tall with a lot of wires coming...

    White letters

Does anyone know how to get all the white paint marker writing off the side of my dang truck? GL wrote all over the dang thing and I was hoping there was a technique to getting it off besides just painting over it.

    Picked up the M1009 yesterday

Nah we wound up going down south through Birmingham and then on to Meridian and then I-12 to I-10. Once I saw the belts were shredded and the batteries were dead we just hitched it up and took off since we had a 12 hour drive either way.

Belt whine... how do I tighten them?

Sorry to revive an old thread but how are you guys moving the power steering bracket? I loosened both tension bolts on both sides and then the center pivot bolt just a little in case it was too tight. I tapped the pulley a little with a rubber mallet to loosen up any rust and tapped the...

    Camp Beauregard M1009 Recovery

I'm surprised they left the antenna on there. That is something that even in the Army was always hard to come by. They snap somewhat easy and units are always stealing other units.

Probably was supposed to be a grant in my case to the Forestry Service and in your case to the Sheriff's Office. I have buddies that work for this government agency or that and they apply for grants all the time. The military just gives them the stuff. One police department here has a deuce...

    Picked up the M1009 yesterday

I bought the tires back here from Discount Tire Company and just had Wal Mart mount them. I paid $148 a piece for some BFG All Terrain KOs in 32 x 11.50 x 15. All Wal Mart had that would have fit was some 31 x 10.50 x 15 Goodyear Mud Terrains. They were $20 cheaper but I like the tires I have...
